The wife of the Army soldier who blew up a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas Wednesday broke up with him six days before he killed himself inside the vehicle, according to law enforcement sources.
Matthew Livelsberger, 37, left his Colorado Springs home the day after Christmas following an argument with his wife over apparent infidelity, two sources familiar with the investigation told The Post.
His wife — who had a baby daughter with Livelsberger — reportedly told him that she knew he had been cheating, the sources said.
After leaving Colorado, Livelsberger rented a Cybertruck through the Turo app and made his way to Vegas, where he parked in front of the Trump hotel on New Year’s Day, detonated explosives stashed in the truck and shot himself in the head, Las Vegas police said.
With the new development in the case, investigators are probing whether the solider’s motive was purely personal rather than political as previously considered given the location of the detonation and choice of vehicle.
The FBI had been looking into the possibility that the bombing was politically charged because it occurred outside a hotel owned by President-elect Donald Trump and inside a vehicle made by the company of Trump’s close ally Elon Musk, according to FBI officials.

I don't like to speculate, but that possibility seems more plausible than the fireworks found in the vehicle.
Maybe he cheated on his wife in Vegas and in that hotel so he made his suicide symbolic?
And, if what he wanted was to kill himself, why did he need to rent a car?
Bull....he also could have just SHOT HIMSELF AT HOME!
As always with these stories conflicting information is released. I don’t know but I suspect the reason is to put so much information out that is not true (or better partly true) so that when the truth is discovered it will be blurred out by all that come before.
Sort of like what chaff does to radar.
I wouldn't expect it to. There's no logical thinking behind anyone committing suicide.
It's just fortunate that he chose not to take anyone else's life along with his, which he easily could have done by choosing a different location with a high gathering of people.
Why kill yourself a few days before retirement?

A big question.
It could be that whoever planned this expected that the explosion and fire would ignite the vehicle’s lithium batteries and destroy all evidence in the cab. They did not expect that the fire would be so easily extinguished. It did not even ignite the tires.
Vegas Cybertruck bomber Matthew Livelsberger bragged to ex-girlfriend about renting vehicle days before blowing it up: ‘Feel like Batman’
Explosive materials are pretty much available in any sporting goods/hardware store. People buy them every day.
Whoever set up the “bomb” in this truck was not being serious about it. A Roman candle is not going to set much on fire.
I know that in my younger days I would get in the car after an argument with my wife and just drive. One time I found myself in the middle of the next state. (In New England, that is an hour’s drive.)
I was never suicidal. But I can imagine driving around and then coming to a “decision.”
Trying to apply logic to a suicidal mind can sometimes be a fool’s errand.
TBI, busted and losing all for cheating, immediate furlough....if so....might not be thinking clearly.
New Orleans guy it seems about the same state really.
One woman, one marriage: make it keep working.
Interesting.... So he split up with his girlfriend Alicia Arritt in 2021 and got married to wife No. 2 (the woman with no name as of yet) in 2022. At least it sounds like the split up with the girlfriend was amicable......the other day they texted, sent pictures/video and she said she was glad to hear from him. One can guess that he probably contacted the girlfriend on the way to Denver with the idea of perhaps meeting up with her....when that didn’t happen, he carried on.
Wife No. 2 accused Livelsberger of infidelity... whether or not that involved the ex-girlfriend in Denver or another unnamed woman, it is starting to sound like Livelsberger was a serial player who had problems keeping his you-know-what in his pants....
Two different things can both be true at the same time.
You can go to any cabellas or bass pro shops and get binary explosives it’s not hard we live in a free country. We need to keep bad people out and have a functional investigation system to jail bad people who are citizens but lunatics or radicalized. Materials will always be available one way or the other. With freshmen university level chemistry one could make high brilliance materials from scratch. Without ever using controlled chemicals I won’t say how on a open forum but any one who has passed organic chemistry could do so.

Go look at the route...Denver to New Mexico, and onto Vegas. Eight stops to recharge along the way. He must have wasted 24 hours just on recharging efforts.
