Carter was the first president to move the needle, albeit slowly, on gay rights

When Jimmy Carter was president from 1977 to 1981, gays and lesbians were unable to obtain government security clearance, same-sex intimacy was illegal in at least two dozen states, and gay marriage was no more than a radical pipe dream. Moreover, political support for LGBTQ causes was still largely taboo for politicians on both sides of the aisle.

But Carter, a Southern Democrat and devout Baptist, stood out for his early support for pro-gay legislation and his embrace of LGBTQ advocates.

...

In 1976, when Carter, a former Georgia governor, was running for president, he voiced his support for legislation that is controversial even among some of today’s politicians. The measure, known as the Equality Act, sought to amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

There are probably going to be secrets coming out about Carter that nobody knew, but it is now safe to release them.

So Carter is responsible for the militant gays who were chating that they are coming for our children. Basically then Carter moved the needle to encourage pedophilia. Sounds about right.

Yep. Good thing Carter has now gone somewhere where he can do no more damage.

Wasn’t much of a Baptist, was he?

There were reasons Carter was a very bad president.

Gays are never going to be considered normal by normal people.. that’s what they want - that’s what they are pushing on us - but it will never happen.

They can be considered normal in TV land and in the movies, but in real life everyone is just creeped out and feels sorry for them.

The more they try to force themselves on society the more people will think they are weird.. you can’t call them weird out loud anymore, but everyone still thinks it - at least normal people do.

Probably the greatest opening for “homosexual rights” derived from the 1973 decision by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to remove homosexuality as a mental disorder from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). Onslaughts forced sufficient abstentions, under-votes, and apprehensive responses for a third of APA’s 17,000 plus membership to approve removal. From then on efforts to abandon the lifestyle would relegate councilors and patients to the outer margins of society.

After this decision, activists targeted leading individual researchers such as Dr. David Reuben, and Masters and Johnson to ensure perpetual sanctity for the APA action. No research papers would again arise to confirm initial therapy success rates of 30% to 60 %, substantiating that 7 of 10 homosexuals could eventually walk away from the lifestyle.

Psychiatry chose to relinquish attempts at scientific rigor for popular societal and political acclaim. With studies concerning homosexuality freed from objective analysis, advocates for social justice relied upon base antidotal politics to dominate debates. The DSM became a refuge for drug marketing brochures and political manifestos.

It could now become a popular cause for Democrats as they found another way to exalt their purity through costless compassion.

They removed it because of a BLM/Antifa style terror campaign against members of the APA. The APA was the proof-of-concept of their long march through the institutions.

What rights were they denied? Oh yeah...none.

The problems was not the pervert supremacists' lack of "rights."

The problem was the non-pervert supremacists had rights.

Maybe he started moving the needle, but that start led to the needle being pegged — transing kids, chopping off perfectly good body parts, toxic drug cocktails for kids, insane tranny mania, pedophilia, in-your-face sexuality 24x7...you name it, it started with Carter.
