The Executive Order effecting the freeze remains in place and will be enforced.
This is per WH Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The buy-out plan looks like a good first step. And I’ll take the ten percenters no matter who they are. But the downside, in the short term, is that the 10% will be those with a saleable skill set who won’t have any trouble finding another job. Think engineers, tradesmen, maintenance guys etc.
A second step will be required to get rid of the navelgazers who thot they were solid. Abolish more programs. Re-hiring the skilled later will be easier since, I’ll bet, the professional pay scale will be worked over. The military, for instance, needs highly skilled civilians. Wait for the benny package to roll out?
I’ve been there and seen it. Back in the 60’s the Navy was outbidding the heck out of every body else to get engineers. They’ll do it again.
