He instigated the fall of the Shah of Iran and the loss of Iran as a western ally. He was a friend of Arafat. He was no friend to Israel. His terror supporting policies led to decades of murder and misery in the Middle East. Not a good man. A dreadful president.

If you REALLY want to “celebrate” Carter, have a national gasoline holiday: lock all the pumps for 24 hours.

Wonder what the Dems plans are for Jan 6th. You can bet they’re planning something in addition to Kamala reading the votes into the record.

May God bless his loved ones with comfort. I hope he was ready to meet his Maker.

It is good that he was able to fulfill his final wish. He was able to cast his vote for Kamala. That is the mark of a successful post-presidency.

Agree. Many conservatives are sad for 2 reason, one you mentioned they don’t remember his many faults.

IMO the other is Carter was a man of his times like most are. In his time the USA was a far more conservative nation than today..for his time he was quite liberal/left.

Yes, he had no SCOTUS picks,..thank God! However, he did appoint the likes of Stephen Breyer and Ruthie Ginsberg to lower courts which teed them up for their future supreme court tenures. Also, he appointed the MOST DESPICABLE Abner Mikva to the US Court of Appeals. Carter either had terrible judgement of people or as a man of the far left deliberately injected like minded filth into our judicial system.

Carter was a complete idiot on all aspects of energy. 50 years ago the fool was warning we were running out of oil.

Bye Jimmy.

I hope The Nibbler isn't expecting anything more than that for himself as well. His legacy is worse than Jimmy's. I didn't think it possible, but Joe did that.

The only US President I have truly mourned was Reagan. I opened a bottle of 1989 Mouton Rothschild and drank it in his honour for the fall of the Berlin Wall and his life. Presidents who have died in my lifetime. JFK....too young to understand who he was. Eisenhower the same as far as his significance. LBJ seemed quite hated by the time he passed. Nixon was a mixed bag at best. Ford was a squish. Bush senior has the same problem as his son. Of the remaining 5 that are still alive only Trump would merit mourning and he has work to do right now.

He “monitored” a Venezuelan election to proclaim the communist, Hugo Chavez, won fairly with 98% of the vote.
