An investigation is underway after a body was discovered in the wheel well of an airplane that landed in Maui after taking off from Chicago.
A statement from United Airlines to WGN News confirmed the body was located in the wheel well of the main landing gears of Flight 202.
According to United’s website, flight 202 departed O’Hare Airport at 9:30 a.m. on Dec 24 and landing at Maui’s Kahului airport at 2:12 p.m. local time.
“The wheel well was only accessible from outside of the aircraft. At this time, it is not clear how or when the person accessed the wheel well,” the statement from United said.
United said they are working with law enforcement in the investigation.

I hope the guy smoked some Maui Wowie before boarding in order to take the edge off of the cold and lack of O2.
A tank of oxygen would not work. First of all, what tank would supply O2 for hours and hours to get to Hawaii. Anyway, you don’t just need oxygen, you need oxygen UNDER PRESSURE at that altitude.
What camera? There would be no camera anywhere.
And you need to not freeze to death.
It could get to -60 F at that altitude.
Their family will probably try to sue United and the aircraft manufacturer for not posting warning signs in the wheel well. The way our court system is so fu*ked up it may be worth trying.
You are correct,,,,post #18.
Unfortunately, didn’t notice your post, and got it from this calculator:
https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/altitude-temperature
No worries, the temperature lapse rate is about 2 degrees C for each 1,000 feet of altitude.
so, does this give a suicide bomber ideas ? or did i just do that ?
carrion Luggage Ping ...
Well, it’[s probably not as bad as Baltimore.
I’m a retired Boeing engineer,
You will not survive a wheel well.
Cockpit won’t even know you are there.
Forced me to see what it looked like in there.... The plane was a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner....

Was it Jimmy Hoffa?
Not that I would try it but here are three wheel well stowaways who survied:

-100 degrees F isn’t livable.......
That’s a damned long flight without a beverage or three, and some peanuts...
After you get to 3,000 meters (about 1.9 miles) above sea level... You’ll freeze to death.
BTW - That’s why (contrary to Al Gore’s assertions) Mount Kilimanjaro still does and always will always have snow... It’s 5,895 meters above sea level.
Embarrassed to laugh, but LOL!
