I’m probably the most anti-dog person on FR someone needs to hold the title.
But eating at a table with a dog present is just the worst.
I’m prepared for the usual insults from fellow freeper neanderthals.
Really depends. Some dogs get trained well and know not to beg or pick up things off the floor or try to put paws on the table to get food. We have a service dog that goes pretty much everywhere we go and that includes restaurants. He lays down under the table quietly while we eat. He gets rewarded afterward in the car or when we get home. He knows the drill.
And the dog, Ranger, kept coming around looking for food. So I was kinda sneaking some food to the dog.”<<<
Why was Ranger even in the dining room? Then the guest was scolded for feeding the persistent li’l beggar.
Too bad the scolded guest wasn’t Rodney Dangerfield.
He would have immediately ‘apologized’ with a wife joke.
My MIL used to have absolute FITS if I washed ‘dog dishes’ in with the ‘people dishes.’
So, yeah. ‘You people’ ARE out there, LOL! :)
A few years ago someone of FR posted a tear jerker article about two stray dogs that fell through the ice on a lake. The article was all about a long, expensive rescue effort. They saved one dog. The other froze to death.
I was flamed heavily after posting something like it being a good training exercise but the more humane approach would be two sniper shots.
I’m guessing I’m considered pretty anti-dog.
I have no room in my life for pets. At the same time I have great appreciation for working dogs.
