A Texas father says his four-month-old twins have been mistakenly deported along with their mother and siblings in an immigration mix-up.
Federico Arellano Jr says his wife Christina Salazar and their four kids were put on a plane on December 9 after missing a hearing with an immigration judge.
He says that he is a US Citizen - along with three of his four kids. It's unclear what Christina's status is.
Despite being born in Houston in October, the twins were sent to Mexico with their mother.
Now, Jr. is fighting to bring them all back, describing it as an ICE misunderstanding.
He said his children were crying as they and Salazar were taken into custody.
The distressed mother later told KHOU that Arellano Jr. was not allowed to say goodbye to the twins in the moment and she was unable to call for help after agents had ripped her cell phone away from her hands.
Attorneys Isaias Torres and Silvia Mintz, who are representing the family, said that Salazar was born in Mexico and married Arellano Jr. in 2019.
It's unclear how he obtained citizenship, or how long he has been living in the US.
The family believes they were harshly punished for simply missing the hearing.
Now, they are begging to be reunited.
'Because their babies are US citizens, they deserve to be here and get the attention they need - the medical attention they need,' one of their lawyers said.
'They were shocked and surprised that they were separated,' another added.
Trump and his incoming border czar Tom Homan have made no secret of their plans to implement mass deportations and family separations when they take office.
Homan makes no apologies for it either.

Nothing in the story is clear.
I guess since the elections over they figure it’s ok to actually deport a few.
Can’t believe this guy thought it was ok to have kids with some one not legally here and now unhappy with reprocussions of it. He should move to be with his family since they aren’t legal and should not be fast tracked, which is what it seems Biden did this for. So Trump will look bad if he doesn’t bring them back.
Bleeding heart liberal sob story.
You can be sure they’re not going to be reporting on the thousands of terrorists, drug runners, and gang members being deported.
The correct answer is, he should have made the meeting.
Seems to me the best thing for four-month-olds is to be with their mother. They’re still breast feeding after all.
Isihta ( the author) is a liar.
Human never said he wanted to separate families.
He said illegals will go and families can go with them (so not separated)
I wouldn’t expect this story to get anything right.
If you read the whole thing, it’s obviously a hit piece on President Trump’s deportation plans. Whatever the truth is, those who published it don’t care about getting the details straight - they just want to use it.
BINGO
My wife had to leave the U.S. to be able to immigrate back in. It was very costly for us. No sympathy here. VERY difficult. I could sure work for and provide priceless assistance to Mr. Homan. He just doesn’t know it.
If they will deport them for missing hearings like they should, suddenly millions will make appointments for hearings.
They thought they were safe because of the anchor babies.
Too bad, so sad.
Also, notice the dishonestly in reporting this?
Trump and Homan are mentioned as if implying this was Trump’s doing.
What the lying MSM failed to mention is this is on BIDEN’S watch.
Trump doesn’t take office until Jan 20. Until then it
s all biden’s doing, and no doubt part of trying to vilify Trump in the process.
they didnt show up
the judge ordered a default deportation order
where is the harsh?
That’s right.
Where’s the harsh?
< shrug >
Beats me ...
Failing to show up for any kind of court thing is never going to end well ... Heck, even when you’re on the other end of the matter (jury duty), don’t fsck around. The court won’t.
To paraphase Martha Raddatz, this is only “a handful” of people deported. It’s not a big deal. Don’t worry about it. It’s not widespread.

Having a U.S. Born Child Does Not Shelter You from Deportation
Contrary to popular belief, just because you have children who were born in the U.S. does not necessarily mean that you will get relief from removal. However, having U.S.-born children may temporarily shield you from deportation if you are eligible to obtain relief.
Many non-citizens also mistakenly believe that they can get U.S. citizenship and avoid deportation through their U.S.-born children. While it is true that you can become a U.S. citizen through your children, this path to citizenship exists only for those whose U.S.-born children are at least 21 years old. Thus, if you are at risk of deportation but your children are younger than 21, you cannot obtain relief from removal through your kids.
I guess the dad could go be with them, if it’s so important to him.
And she has to pay for what she has done.
read the fine print with Medicaid... all money they give you, they take back from your assets once you die!!
