A Texas father says his four-month-old twins have been mistakenly deported along with their mother and siblings in an immigration mix-up.
Federico Arellano Jr says his wife Christina Salazar and their four kids were put on a plane on December 9 after missing a hearing with an immigration judge.
He says that he is a US Citizen - along with three of his four kids. It's unclear what Christina's status is.
Despite being born in Houston in October, the twins were sent to Mexico with their mother.
Now, Jr. is fighting to bring them all back, describing it as an ICE misunderstanding.
He said his children were crying as they and Salazar were taken into custody.
The distressed mother later told KHOU that Arellano Jr. was not allowed to say goodbye to the twins in the moment and she was unable to call for help after agents had ripped her cell phone away from her hands.
Attorneys Isaias Torres and Silvia Mintz, who are representing the family, said that Salazar was born in Mexico and married Arellano Jr. in 2019.
It's unclear how he obtained citizenship, or how long he has been living in the US.
The family believes they were harshly punished for simply missing the hearing.
Now, they are begging to be reunited.
'Because their babies are US citizens, they deserve to be here and get the attention they need - the medical attention they need,' one of their lawyers said.
'They were shocked and surprised that they were separated,' another added.
Trump and his incoming border czar Tom Homan have made no secret of their plans to implement mass deportations and family separations when they take office.
Homan makes no apologies for it either.

Well, wasn’t this story perfectly timed.
There’s going to be a lot more of these boo-hoo stories. And all of them will have little things like “mother/father’s status unknown”, “failed to show up in court”, “babies crying for mama/daddy while phone to lawyer being yanked....”
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Papa likely an illegal and so is mom....that’s why they missed immigration court. Screw them. The kids can go with them, or they can stay here with CPS til they’re 18......
Never should have been here in the first place.
That’s what I don’t understand about the article. If the father is a citizen, at least two of the children (maybe more) are not ‘anchor babies’ but actual citizens. (Two of them are apparently only four months old.)
I think this was in a Seinfeld episode. The guy’s mail was in Elaine’s box and she didn’t notice the letter from Immigration.
It’s kissmis you know. Can’t miss that opportunity to rip off a few tear jerkers you know.
The story still doesn’t make sense to me.
I agree.
The truth of this story is the mother opted to take the children with her. Under current law, they could have stayed if she chose otherwise.
The most famous example of this is Elián González, who became a legal US resident as a child that was “reunited” with his father in Cuba under Clinton.
Ignored a hearing just like every other GD Illegal!
Trying to set up the narrative that since things like that can happen, then none of the illegals should be deported.
And may the winning continue!
Well said.
They were just following the rules of the world enslavement forum playbook.
Exactly.
Don’t miss hearings!!
Wow... They really went all out on the emotional appeal on that one.
Heck, my Grandparents were almost kicked out for not meeting the English requirement back in the late 1940’s... Grandpa was on the last chance to pass. I have their immigration documents.
And was done on purpose to grab headlines. Won’t work. People don’t care and hate the idea of anchor babies.
More of the Harris - Biden administration war on Children. What does Border Czar Harris have to say about what her people are doing?
Sounds more like she divorced him and took the kids..../S
I have a tear jerker. Just yesterday, when lining up for a tour in Curaçao, they wanted my sister and I to get onto two different tour buses. We insisted that you can’t separate families. It got some laughs.
