A newly minted and massive Iranian drone carrier was captured in new satellite images sailing in the Persian Gulf this week — the ship’s first reported sighting since leaving its home port for the first time in mid-November.
The satellite images taken Thursday by commercial operator Maxar Technologies shows three Iranian drone ships in the waters off the country’s coast as theories have swirled in the US that Iran could be behind the mysterious drone sightings across the tri-state area, according to Business Insider.
Iran’s new carrier — the Shahid Bagheri — is a converted shipping container that was outfitted to support drone operations and was last seen on Nov. 12, when it was captured by satellite imagery sitting in Bandar Abbas, the report said.
The Shahid Bagheri left its home Iranian home port sometime between Nov. 12 and Nov. 28, revealed by satellite imagery that shows an empty dock where the ship once sat, according to another Business Insider report.
The new carrier was believed to have headed straight to the Persian Gulf to partake in naval exercises, the report said.
The new images from this week show the overhauled ship was pictured with two other Iranian drone vessels — Shahid Roudaki and Shahid Mahdavi — off the Bandar Abbas port in the Persian Gulf, according to NDTV.
News of the Shahid Bagheri’s whereabouts came days after speculation that an Iranian drone “mothership” was parked out in the Atlantic and was carrying out clandestine drone operations in the airspace of New Jersey and Staten Island.
Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) claimed to Fox News on Wednesday morning that the drones were possibly being launched by Iran, citing confidential sources.

On May 18, 2022, the first Chinese unmanned drone carrier named Zhuhai Cloud ("Zhu Hai Yun") was launched in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in China, intended to advance marine research and economics.[10][11] In May 2024, a possible drone carrier, with a catamaran layout and low flight deck, was spotted in the Jiangsu Dayang Marine Shipyards.[12]
Iran
Iran also built a drone carrier (named Shahid Bagheri) with an estimated 160 to 180m long flight deck by converting a container ship.[13] It is reported that several kinds of drones and helicopters can take off from and land on the said carrier. She also carry several anti-ship and anti-air missiles for protection and 30 Ashura-class missile speedboats with herself.[14][15][16][17]
Portugal
Portuguese navy plans, for the second half of 2026,[18] to deliver the NRP D. João II, a platform ship capable of operating aerial, surface and underwater drones, as well as medium (Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk) and heavy (EH101 Merlin) helicopters of the Portuguese air force.[19]
South Korea
On 12 November 2024, the South Korean Navy conducted a Gray Eagle STOL UAV take-off test aboard the amphibious assault ship ROKS Dokdo to test the ship's ability to carry fixed-wing UAVs. The Gray Eagle UAV took off from Dokdo, flew twice close to her port side to perform a "simulated landing procedure", but did not land on the ship.[20] The Korean company Hanwha Ocean has presented several concepts for the production of UAV carrier or carriers of other unmanned vehicles in its proposed project called Ghost Commander.[21]

They take us for fools.
Let the conspiracies begin....What if the US government knows who is behind the drones and the reasons behind the drones are being used.
What if the Government knows that the drones are being flown to show how unprepared the US is to defend its homeland, and the Government knows a major terrorist attack is being planned and the government is more than willing to let it happen.
The obvious question is, why would the government allow a major terrorist attack to take place inside the US.
Think back to 9/11 and the aftermath, we started the Global War on Terror (GWOT), the MIC made 100s of billions in profits and the government implemented all sorts of spying mechanisms that allowed to government to spy on its own citizens.
Billions in profits for the MIC and additional restrictions on US citizens, sacrificing the lives of a few thousand Americans is a small price to pay for a bigger goal.
All this being done while a new POTUS takes over would certainly potentially derail his agenda.
It’s hard not to come up with all sorts of nefarious scenarios. Trust in our own government is at an all-time low. And they do not care.
They have satellite images showing the ships off the coast of Iran. Do they have satellite images showing these ships off the coasts of the United States?
Military lasers can’t be developed fast enough! Once you have them drones will be an easy target to destroy.
If the Iranian ships were seen in the Persian Gulf this week, as late as Thursday, then there’s no way they could have been off the Jersey coast this week. Converted barges or container ships don’t go fast enough.
Whatever they are, and I’m open to anything, they’re not shy about showing up. I thought we might go thru the night with no activity and the government just shrugging it’s shoulders as if they would tells us the truth.
But they came out right on time again and gave us more video more info just from a pursuit that couldn’t keep up and radar folks finding they don’t show up on radar.
Some folks, civilians if not government, are even more prepared to find out what they are after another day. What odds are we giving that they make another appearance tonight? Could be more than just an appearance. Hope we stay safe.

Several militaries have demonstrated missiles and drones launched from shipping containers. Due to the volume of trade a ship loaded with these would go undetected probably even after launching an attack.
We are already in deep dark danger and our military is focused on big, expensive weapons launched from big, vulnerable bases and platforms.
We are fools.
$700 billion + Pentagon budget
Hundreds of billions for Homeland Security, FBI, CIA, etc
We can’t keep track of an enemy ship nor account for any of that money
What happens if we are invaded by a hostile country and Biden doesn’t lift a finger to stop it?......that would explain his peaceful transition of power statement to DJT........Yeah I know, I’m paranoid.

our ME adversaries have proved “low tech” warfare can be effective.

Riiight...
Our Deep State scares me a helluva lot more, poses far more of a clear and present danger to me and mine than the Chicoms, Rooskies, or mullahs.
Didn't know you could convert a shipping container into a military vessel - reminds me of the "cheese box on a raft"...
But if the mullahs do in fact have a death wish, a musical dedication to accompany them on their way to paradise...

I agree - I’m sure it’s a converted shipping container SHIP...
“ all this being done while a new POTUS takes over would certainly potentially derail his agenda.”
Certainly should not be used as a modifier for potentially, a bit like sgt Schultz’s definite maybe.😂
Regardless or irregardless lol, your points are worth considering
Maxar Technologies apparently doesn’t. However the US government of course should. Kiorby should expound on what those images show or don’t show. Instead he plays cryptic word games.
One would think that if there is something the size of a drone carrier off the east coast and within range to lauch, someone has to be seeing it, lots of someones.
