They need the prosthetics for newcomers.
Oh one if those small health plans with little reserves to pay for stuff.
People are upset that any one could see how someone would be upset with insurance companies enough to commit such horrible act.
Yes it was horrible and in no way justified BUT we can also see how this is becoming an issue for so many.
As I said before we are seeing a French Revolution level of disconnect between the elites running these corporations and the common person.
We can entertain both ideas, the murder was wrong and the insurance companies are wrong at the same time.
This is fake news.
Fake news might be factual in some respects, but it is reported so as to fool the sheeple and lead them into believing what the liberals wants them to believe.
And you fell for it.
Actually, it’s not medically necessary. However, there are insurance companies that would cover it. But, they won’t be the cheap ones.
saving the arm for an immigrant.
Doctors say they won’t do anything and that she will be all right. [/rimshot]
Don’t complain that your health insurance is too expensive when insurance companies are supposed to pay for every conceivable treatment, no matter how expensive it is. That’s why premiums are so high. OTOH the CEO doesn’t need to make 10 million.
victim rage fuel
Unless the parents can pay for it then they should stick to normal prosthetics until the girl is fully grown. Having to constantly replace a robotic one to keep up with growth would get mighty expensive. Thereby affecting insurance costs or coverage for everyone else.
Well.....
This past year I had one employee with cervical cancer and another that had to have a liver transplant.
The insurer was United Healthcare and they basically paid for everything.
Wait. She has been approved for prosthetic arm. She has not been approved for a robotics arm.
Makes sense.
OK. The anti-insurance company activist should break the left arm of the individual who made the final denial of coverage, so he/she has to live with what the kid is living with. That is, of course, if you support the shooting of the CEO.
Get someone do do it with a 3d printer. I have seen some online and they are awesome.
This is not an opportune time for insurance companies to be effing around with denials.
They are denying her an advanced robotic prosthetic arm; I’m sure she could get a simple prosthetic arm. Cost is probably several million dollars. This is why insurance is so high. I think there should be three classes of insurance. (i) Actual insurance: You pay for everything EXCEPT unforseen extraordinary medical expenses related to a short term emergency event (car accident, incident of cancer, aneurysm, stroke, heart attack, broken leg). Inexpensive and affordable. (ii) Health Services: Basically what we have now, something that helps pay nearly all medical bills,, but with caps. Moderately expensive. (iii) Gold Plated Comprehensive coverage: Covers rare and exotic treatments, and everything else. Like robotics prosthetic devices, like life time care for someone born with severe disabilities, like terminal care for someone with dementia... this would be super expensive, but you could live knowing that if you were on these situations you are covered.
Technically, insurance is to cover you for loss.
If you did not have something, there is a great argument that you can’t get something.
This definitely should hold true for all sex change operations, too.
If she wanted a sex change though???
I gather from what was posted that the insurance company is not outright denying all prosthetics but this robotic model. The insurance company likely reasons that she had not needed that type before and that she will outgrow it fairly quickly.
It may be that the robotic arm is not suitable for her at this age. I also do not understand why she was allowed to test the arm before getting a clearance from the insurance company. That would have saved her a lot of heart ache.
