How many are still running Win 7?
I'm sure that would have an effect on sales....
Can someone tell my why I have to SEARCH for the Control Panel and why it isn't listed with the other apps and features?
I know the article talks about percent of computers, but the reality is that many people don’t even own a desktop or a laptop. They do all of their computer work from a smart phone.
Is that correct?
Hate to see it go.
I have used Windows 10 for almost five years.
Not one software issue in five years.
It is the best OS I have ever used.
My nephew just switched a buddy of mine over to Linux. His computer was completely bogged down. On Linux it’s lightning fast again. At least for everyday usage.
I think I’ll go that way too. I hate 11.
I’m still on 8.1, just sayin
Windows 11 is a privacy nightmare.
This video was uploaded by the You Tuber Britec09.
Lots of videos on You Tube on how to do Windows 11 when Microsoft supposedly wasn't "supporting" it.
I'm thinking about doing a dual boot Linux, if I don't like the option of running Windows 10 after October of 2025.
They deserve it, they’ve been creating basically spyware to sweep all your data, touting it as a great feature and totally safe because you can opt out, then quietly making it an essential service that cannot be opted out from. If I had a business I’d be looking for other options immediately.
If I have to replace a PC, why not see what Apple has to offer?
I have one W11 PC that won’t update to version 24H2 because the system reserved partition is full, and so far I have not been able to increase it or delete anything in it.
I’ve had Win 11 for about two years now and it has been rock solid. I have no complaints. The problem, as others have pointed out, is that it doesn’t run on older machines.
11 is train wreck. I don’t really use my pc anymore, just have it at work.
Windows 11 version 21H2 reached its end of service as of October 8, 2024...for the exact reason you stated. Insufficient hardware.
They offer a way out, but it looks like you have to jump thru hoops to get it.

Not sure what the big deal is, my Windows 11 boots up in less than 10 seconds ready to use with Opera open and many tabs no less. And this machine will be as slow as cold molasses in a couple years, such is life.
They have been putting flash screens on windows 10. First it is to tell you that your computer cannot install windows 11. Then a couple of months later they are putting up splash screens saying that they want you to test if you computer supports windows 11. Even though they have already determined that it does not. Very harassing.
I never saw a reason to change from XP. But Gates promised that Win10 would be the last system. So isn’t Win11 an example of fraud? Where are the regulators? The DOJ?
I’ve used all of the common OS distributions since CP/M. DOS 6.1, Win XP, 7, 10 and so far 11 have been very good. I love iPhone and iPad but have never liked Mac computers. Linux is OK, but I just can’t get enthusiastic about it.
If MS continues to disallow older hardware that is still tremendous overkill for most applications, I predict Win 11 will not sell. They will have to give it away with new computers.
