Former President Clinton blamed the “mainstream media” coverage of Hillary Clinton’s email controversy for her 2016 presidential loss.
During an interview with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on “Morning Joe” that aired Monday, the former president discussed an excerpt from his recent book, “Citizen,” published in November.
In the book, he detailed the rage he felt after his wife, the former Secretary of State, lost to President-elect Trump in the 2016 election, and how he believes the media blew the email scandal out of proportion.
“It’s easier for us to know what happened in 2016 in some ways than it is what happened in 2024 … because in 2016, you had two highly unusual things,” former President Clinton began, in a clip highlighted by Mediaite.
“First of all, the mainstream media told the American people repeatedly that the biggest issue was Hillary’s emails. That’s what they said,” he continued.

She lost for the same reason that Kamala did...not likeable and cold as ice.
It’s only right that he, and I’m sure she are still wallowing in the anguish of losing an election 8 years ago.

If anything, Bill probably felt relief that Hillary lost.
That meant he didn’t have to move into the White House and stand by for photo ops with his wife, travel with her, etc. He could continue to screw around (literally and figuratively) as much as he wanted without too many people checking in on him.
He did probably regret the new opportunities for grifting that Hillary could have provided being in the White House.
