There are animals and animals. I get the same creeps from polar bears as great white sharks. Anything huge with dead eyes, completely unintimidated by humans, and sees us solely as prey has my utmost respect.

No way would I go outside without a gun in bear country, especially at night. Even here in N.W. Jersey we have more and more black bears every year, and they are used to humans and that makes them more dangerous I think, although nothing like a polar bear. Usually a gunshot to the ground will scare them off, you don’t always have to hit them. No idea how polar bears react.
Must have been a bi-polar bear.
Somewhere way up north, around the Hudson Bay, I believe.
Because whomever is an idiot? The pictures and the article have nothing to do with each other. Probably no pictures of the attack, unless the wife was taking videos while her hubby was getting eaten. They could of had some pictures of their wounds though.
There are more Polar Bears than ever. They love global warming as it brings them the occasional tasty snack
There are no Polar bears in BC, Alberta or Yukon.

Well, yeah, I would not expect pictures of the attack, but if they wanted a photo to accompany the piece a shot of the neighborhood would have made more sense.
There are many dummies involved in reporting these days, it seems.
