Liberalism seems to have an irrational animus against Christianity. Consider these two stories highlighted in the last week by conservative Christian blogger Rod Dreher.
Item 1: In a widely discussed essay in Slate, author Brian Palmer writes about the prevalence of missionary doctors and nurses in Africa and their crucial role in treating those suffering from Ebola. Palmer tries to be fair-minded, but he nonetheless expresses "ambivalence," "suspicion," and "visceral discomfort" about the fact that these men and women are motivated to make "long-term commitments to address the health problems of poor Africans," to "risk their lives," and to accept poor compensation (and sometimes none at all) because of their Christian faith.

Converting Catholics is not my job. Putting forth Biblical truths is, however, important to me.
As I understand it, because I am a Christian I want to do good works. I want to find ways to make people’s lives better, whether it be alleviating their burden or doing them small favours that adds to their life or teach them how to be more mindful of righteousness, but I cannot add to my salvation by doing so.
When you accept Christ, you now have absolute permission to do things differently and relief suffering. But it wont’ save you. It’s basically a by-product of your salvation.
When you imply or state that Catholics do not follow Biblical teachings then you would be well advised to check your motivations

The first Ten Amendments falsely called “the Bill of Rights”, are pointed ONLY at the feds and nowhere else. (See the Federalist Papers and Madison’s writings.)
The first ten amendments were created to get the anti-federalists who were afraid of a new federal gov’t, to ratify the Constitution. The first ten amendments, as written and originally understood and intended, were ONLY restrictions on the feds.

actually no, morality doesn’t restrict anyone from doing whatever they choose to do or believe in because it is a human right to choose one’s own path. what does restrict people is the choices they make from their own heart to follow a way they believe is right and cannot be dissuaded from it. read in a book about those who revel in disobedience and celebrate those who join them. if YOU don’t join them then you aren’t in their club. your choice.
They will tell you they are atheists, but go out of their way to blaspheme God. Seen it a million times.
I make that distinction quite often.
Liberals can grow up and reject Leftism. You can often talk to them.
The only way Leftists ever leave their own plantation is if they get mugged, figuratively speaking. David Horowitz is one example who left, as is Tulsi Gabbard, IMO.

Not even. I’ve seen Leftists get attacked/mugged and state that they deserved it due to their white privilege.
I certainly didn’t mean that as a blanket statement. I only meant both Horowitz and Gabbard as rare examples of Leftists who climbed out of Leftism due to trauma of some sort. (In Horowitz’s case, he had to face the fact his employers murdered a co-worker of his when he worked for the Black Panthers.)
But the vast majority of Leftists don’t.
Solzhenitsyn’s “Gulag Archipelago” talks of Soviet citizens imprisoned in the Gulag, put there by Stalin, who cried tears of grief when he died. And he put them there.
You are correct in that respect. There are many Leftists who will defend Leftism to their last breath, even if that last breath is taken from them by the people they defend.
It is a sickness.
