Very cute. Harkening back to the days when some degree of innocence still existed to a degree.

The black & white episodes of the Hillbillies were absolute classics! IMO something went wrong after they went color. I can’t really explain it but I lost interest in the series after that.

Made my heart ache with nostalgia for a different America. Not a perfect one, but a different one that is more in line with being American.

The same thing happened to The Saint and Danger Man.
Both series weren’t quite as good when they went to color.

IMO something went wrong after they went color. I can’t really explain it but I lost interest in the series after that. Same thing happened with the Andy Griffith Show. Most people agree that show Jumped The Shark from the time it went to color.

But her comedic genius as “Granny” was her best profile. I can never get tired of her shtick.

THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW also lost Don Knotts the year they switched to color. That’s the bigger reason for the decline in quality.

I dont think the innocence was as important as keeping the Non Innocent stuff away from kids and the population in general.
That democrat that said Clinton was defining deviancy down nailed it.
Back then, if an actor or singer or media personality had some quite immortal habits, they kept it to themselves because normalizing it would set a new LOW bar.
People will stray from the bar that is set in a country.
The higher the bar the better. So PRETENDING to be a moral good guy when you are in the spotlight is important.
Because straying from that point shouldn’t be too extreme.
If immoral IS the bar that is set...then SICK and VILE things are the bar below.
Boy I used the word BAR a lot :)
