Washington Commanders managing partner Josh Harris and the NFL Commanders ownership group have agreed to un-cancel the Redskins (the iconic Blackfoot chief logo) history.
In a post on Facebook by Republican Montana Sen. Steve Daines, the Congressman wrote that “The censorship of the former Commanders logo was a classic case of woke gone wrong. I applaud the Commanders & the NFL for their commitment to never censor the logo again.”

I loved the history of the Cowboys-Redskins NFL games. They had color, tension, hatred, and excitement.
Now it’s the Cowboys vs. Commanders. No meaning or history whatsoever.

I remember seeing a game way back when (early Eighties maybe) and the crowd in RFK was bouncing the section of the stadium and and down in unison!
I think they stopped doing that after there was a tragedy at some structural collapse where a lot of people were killed.
I went to a pro hockey game at the old Boston Garden after that collapse occurred, and people were doing the same thing, jumping up and down, and you could feel the structure moving, and in that pandemonium some shrill voice shrieked out “STOP!” and in unison, everyone ceased at the same time. I think everyone immediately realized why someone would say that.
I have never understood this cancel culture.
If I were of the Indian descent, I would be proud of Redskins, Pirates, Braves, etc.!
And of the LanOLakes former beauty!
AZ Navajo reservation high school have a Redskins team and they are very proud of it!

If the NFL wants me back they will need to decorate the stadiums with “White Lives Matter” banners and have the teams bend the knee honoring white people.
That would be fun to watch.
They could have kept the name and just changed the logo to a potato ...

Now let’s call the Cleveland baseball team the Indians again. And change all those college names back. And whoever disagrees, we cancel the NY Yankees. As a Southerner, that name triggers me.
The native Americans never had a problem with the name. It was their “white saviors”.
