No matter what students bring to future "show and tells" at Orchard Junior School in the Southampton area of England, they will never be able to top this year's spectacle that shut down and evacuated the school.
One bonkers little tyke brought in a bit of vintage "unexploded ordinance" to show his mates.
The school quickly evacuated all the students, called the police, and texted the parents:
Schools are being closed & evacuated - please collect your child from Noadswood field ASAP.
Imagine getting that little note in the middle of the school day.
Laura Holloway, a mother of one of the students was at work at the time. She said,
It was so worrying. Another parent had called saying there were police everywhere. I knew my youngest would have been so scared.
But, she added:
Both schools seemed to deal with it all very well and had the kids lined up and checked off - it must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
Once the students were out, the police showed up and sent in the bomb squad.
The police's full statement said: ‘We were called at about 1.30pm to a report that a child had brought what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance to Orchard Junior School.
‘The school was calmly evacuated and a disposal team attended to take the item away to be destroyed as a precaution.'
Not an easy task by any means.
The real question everyone wants to know is "What kind of ‘historic incendiary device' are we talking about here?"
This is England after all. They've been blowing stuff up and getting blown up for centuries.
It could've been anything from a 16th-century mortar to a WWII hand grenade to that morning's beans on toast.
HAIL THE CONQUERING HERO...!
Killed it.
One could say that, but only Nully would usually have the guts to say it. 😂
So, I’m not really much of a WNBA fan (as in not really at all) but after seeing all these Sophie Cunningham memes of her pointing her finger and reading the backstory I could start paying more attention.
What did she do?
I kinda had a day like that yesterday... odds and ends that needed to be taken care of... pulled the Jeep out and blew out the leaves it had been parking on in the carport, washed the mud and bugs off it while it was out... took off the catch plate on a closet door and chiseled out about 1/16” of excess wood so that it sits farther into the wood so the ball catch on top of the door would open without a big fight... things like that...
👍🏻
😂
What is that all about?
Apparently when Kaitlin Clark was down some member of the opposing team “accidentally” found her fist in Katilin’s throat while Katilin was down.
You might already know that Kaitlin Clark was supposed to be the WNBA’s Michael Jordan or something. She’s straight and white so people figure the WNBA has it in for her.
Sophie is her team mate. She just pointed at the offending opposing team member for like 12 seconds with a “you know what you did” look on her face. It’s priceless. You can search Sophie Cunningham Meme if you want to see it.
Ping to 8330.
Ahh, I know of Clark... the very good college player that the other teams in the wnba try to beat down and injure every game...
Apparently Sophie is her enforcer.
But the meme is what gets me. That look - there have been so many made up around it.
This is me when I see someone in the 15 items or less line with way more than 15 items.
Etc.
Makes sense, she needs one...
Haha about the 15 items or less lines... since I do my shopping on Tuesdays most weeks, the store is fairly empty and even though they have limited checkout lanes open, I can usually find one that is ready with no wait... but often the clerk at one of the 15 items or less lanes waves me in... I say, oh, I have way more than 15... and they respond with a “No problem... I need something to do...”
So I feel a bit funny during the process because I know people walk by with a few items and stare at me checking out in that lane with a pretty full cart... If they stop in that lane behind me, I usually shrug my shoulders and say that I was told to use this lane... 😂
A cart is an item, right? You don’t bring more than 15 carts, right?
I always figured that each separate item for sale was an item… but I have had check out clerks tell me that 3 bottles of Gatorade are one item, or two identical cartons of eggs are one item…. 🤷♂️
Well, if you bought a case of Gatorade in a box it would be one item, so ...
Thanks. I saw the reports of Ms. Clark’s being hit in the throat, but I hadn’t seen the second part.
Yeah, definitely, as well as a 6 or 8 pack….
Supposedly a big “Strawberry Moon” rising late tonight, about 11pm.
Apparently the April full moon is known as a “Pink Moon.”
Either there’s a whole lotta stuff in The Farmer’s Almanac that nobody talks about, or somebody’s makin’ things up for the sake of Content.
