No matter what students bring to future "show and tells" at Orchard Junior School in the Southampton area of England, they will never be able to top this year's spectacle that shut down and evacuated the school.
One bonkers little tyke brought in a bit of vintage "unexploded ordinance" to show his mates.
The school quickly evacuated all the students, called the police, and texted the parents:
Schools are being closed & evacuated - please collect your child from Noadswood field ASAP.
Imagine getting that little note in the middle of the school day.
Laura Holloway, a mother of one of the students was at work at the time. She said,
It was so worrying. Another parent had called saying there were police everywhere. I knew my youngest would have been so scared.
But, she added:
Both schools seemed to deal with it all very well and had the kids lined up and checked off - it must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
Once the students were out, the police showed up and sent in the bomb squad.
The police's full statement said: ‘We were called at about 1.30pm to a report that a child had brought what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance to Orchard Junior School.
‘The school was calmly evacuated and a disposal team attended to take the item away to be destroyed as a precaution.'
Not an easy task by any means.
The real question everyone wants to know is "What kind of ‘historic incendiary device' are we talking about here?"
This is England after all. They've been blowing stuff up and getting blown up for centuries.
It could've been anything from a 16th-century mortar to a WWII hand grenade to that morning's beans on toast.
LMAO
Yeah, I LOLed.
How cool is that?
I’ll tell you the first and best thing you can do for that trailer is equip it with a pair of these:
Bookmarked... I could use these on my speedboat trailer. I just repacked them last year and it was a pain. Thanks!
Well, the supposedly foreseen precipitation was overnight and uneventful, giving way to patchy blue skies and a not-too-cold day rendering anything more than a flannel shirt a bit much.
As for Wordle today... You’ve gotta be KIDDING me...!

Good weather, tough Wordle? Is that how it works?

Wow, a pattern with too many options! Good that you didn’t fall through!
Good morning. Happy Friday!
Those little kittens look like they could hatch at any moment. I didn’t realize they would want bananas when they first come out of the shell.
We had temps in the 40s this morning after a light rain yesterday.
It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is in a week. I guess we’ll start working on that after we get the dog food prep done tomorrow morning.
Wordle didn’t go so great this morning.

Good morning. I blame climate change for the sudden change in kitten diet.
I’m on the “getting better” side of the family’s cold, while Vlad is in the “getting worse” phase. Fortunately for him, he doesn’t need to do anything until Monday.
Good Morning All!
Glad that you are getting past the worst of the cold... we finally got our promised rain... 1.51” at this point... more to come on Sunday night into Monday...
Used a sacrificial row 2 to get some more clues, worked out okay...

Good strategy!
Is Vlad the last one for the cold to go through? Or are there others waiting their turn.
I remember the days when I could just relax. I’m sure they’ll be back soon. Although Mrs. ArGee thinks planning time to relax is some kind of moral failing.
I’ll have a couple of days to relax, because DP and Kathleen are going on a campout with the Scouts.
Yes, Vlad is the last of the resident household to catch it.
Currently 25 and Sunny. Lots of frost on the grass at Dawn. Supposed to be kind of nice the next couple days.
Tmorrow, clean up a spot in the garage to bring the jetski in, scope the motor, and if the pistons look ok... do a compression test. Then, make a laundry list of parts that need upgrade/replacing.
Sunday... Doing a couple hundred miles on Abby. There’s a kind of neat antique store I want to go hit.

Ah, I remember those campouts with the Boy Scouts (in my day). Mrs. ArGee doesn’t really relate to camping.
Mrs. ArGee bought a new piece of furniture from an Amish furniture maker. That’s going to give me a pleasant drive through Amish country in a few weeks.
It’s going to be a few weeks because it’s Amish Wedding Season. I didn’t know there was such a thing, but I guess there is.
