No matter what students bring to future "show and tells" at Orchard Junior School in the Southampton area of England, they will never be able to top this year's spectacle that shut down and evacuated the school.
One bonkers little tyke brought in a bit of vintage "unexploded ordinance" to show his mates.
The school quickly evacuated all the students, called the police, and texted the parents:
Schools are being closed & evacuated - please collect your child from Noadswood field ASAP.
Imagine getting that little note in the middle of the school day.
Laura Holloway, a mother of one of the students was at work at the time. She said,
It was so worrying. Another parent had called saying there were police everywhere. I knew my youngest would have been so scared.
But, she added:
Both schools seemed to deal with it all very well and had the kids lined up and checked off - it must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
Once the students were out, the police showed up and sent in the bomb squad.
The police's full statement said: ‘We were called at about 1.30pm to a report that a child had brought what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance to Orchard Junior School.
‘The school was calmly evacuated and a disposal team attended to take the item away to be destroyed as a precaution.'
Not an easy task by any means.
The real question everyone wants to know is "What kind of ‘historic incendiary device' are we talking about here?"
This is England after all. They've been blowing stuff up and getting blown up for centuries.
It could've been anything from a 16th-century mortar to a WWII hand grenade to that morning's beans on toast.
I think we all have...
It finally made it above 50 degree here. Windy out there though.
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
I think I met one of Darksheare’s relatives last night.
B-I-L took us out to dinner. This man filled our water glasses then said he’d be right out with some bread. But when he came out he was a woman. I didn’t think that was possible, but there it was. Later, she said she’d bring more bread, but when she came out she was the man again.
Since we never saw both of them together we figured it was a shape-shifter.
Later she said she’d bring us some boxes and exited to our right. He immediately came out from the left with the boxes. So we were served by a teleporting shape shifter.
If that was a relative of yours, Darks, give our regards.
B-I-L goes home today. This is the last time we’ll see him here. He has to come back in April to pick up his stuff - or whenever his house is ready for it.
Apparently the folks at Wordle wanted to give me a gift today, but not quite as big a one as using my starter word.

Good Morning!
Nice job! 👍🏻
Been very nice weatherwise, expecting a brief, sharp cool down Sunday into Monday...
Another where it took quite a bit of time to get from two to three...

Happy frigid Thursday... Not sure if it is actually that cold outside... but it looks blustery. 48 degrees isn’t that bad... but I still don’t want to be out in it.

Happy Thorsday! I’ve been to Walmart. Oh, I also took Vlad to the doctor. He’s fine.
I didn’t know that Vlad was exhibiting symptoms of not-fine-ness but I’m glad he’s fine.
I probably need to find a doctor when I get to the Wildlands. I have a few questions that I just haven’t roused myself enough to make an appointment to get answered.
He wasn’t, it was just a checkup. He had the MRSA in his toe thing earlier in the year, but that’s fine now.
Good morning. Happy Friday!
Ain’t ‘dat the troof!
I’ll be driving my car to the Wildlands tomorrow and taking a train back here.
The Princess isn’t happy about how the apartment is looking. Mrs. ArGee is starting to stress about how much there is still left to do.
We had 30 fs when I walked The Princess this morning. I’ll be glad to be just a little further south soon. I like the crisp air, but this is a little too crisp.
I thought I might get the Wordle in 3. But even with such good hints from my starter it took 4.

Good Friday Morning!
A couple of more warm days, then a pretty good chill for a couple of days is on tap, then a gradual warming back up...
I’ll have to remember this streak when I start piling up the 4s and 5s again...

Imprisoned Kat isn’t wearing the requisite Mask Of The Resistance, so... perhaps there’s hope...
He may never make it out.
I think it would have worked better if the timespan was longer... say 1969... and 1990...
Supposedly, we also invented the “nut cup” before the helmet too...
Priorities...
Sunny once again, but the mornings are getting a tiny bit of an edge to them.
Already got a few Christmas things: peppermint bark and assorted Lindor chocolate truffles. Wally World has gingerbread and candy house kits for $10. In the past, we’ve waited until after Thanksgiving to built them, but then they hang around looking ever more unhappy until resignation sets in and they are either eaten or unceremoniously disposed of the week before the Superbowl. I’m hoping that building them early will see them enjoyed by Christmas Day.
Also found this pop-up paper “Christmas card” that unflattens (?) into the Peanuts gang on stage at their Christmas play, with Linus at the mic.
It has built in electronics so when you push the hidden button, the stage lights come on, and Linus recites Scripture concluding with “That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.”
I bought it for my #2 Son and family, but the nostalgia of it is so thick I might have to find another one to add to my own seasonal decor.
