No matter what students bring to future "show and tells" at Orchard Junior School in the Southampton area of England, they will never be able to top this year's spectacle that shut down and evacuated the school.
One bonkers little tyke brought in a bit of vintage "unexploded ordinance" to show his mates.
The school quickly evacuated all the students, called the police, and texted the parents:
Schools are being closed & evacuated - please collect your child from Noadswood field ASAP.
Imagine getting that little note in the middle of the school day.
Laura Holloway, a mother of one of the students was at work at the time. She said,
It was so worrying. Another parent had called saying there were police everywhere. I knew my youngest would have been so scared.
But, she added:
Both schools seemed to deal with it all very well and had the kids lined up and checked off - it must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
Once the students were out, the police showed up and sent in the bomb squad.
The police's full statement said: ‘We were called at about 1.30pm to a report that a child had brought what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance to Orchard Junior School.
‘The school was calmly evacuated and a disposal team attended to take the item away to be destroyed as a precaution.'
Not an easy task by any means.
The real question everyone wants to know is "What kind of ‘historic incendiary device' are we talking about here?"
This is England after all. They've been blowing stuff up and getting blown up for centuries.
It could've been anything from a 16th-century mortar to a WWII hand grenade to that morning's beans on toast.
My mother was a tax professional and worked diligently to make sure the government got as little as possible.
It turns out that, as of today, we were only discussing what she was holding in an IRA, and it’s a nice amount to have, but not a great deal over five or ten years of distributions. She said she’ll be talking to my brother tomorrow about the trust, and that’s where most of the assets have been held.
It was one of those that the first word that pops into your mind is correct....
Hoping that the meeting went well!
Thanks. I learned some useful things and got online access organized with mom’s adviser. She’s going to talk with my brother today, and after that, I’ll know more.
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
The car repair is complete. Now I don’t have to sweat the timing belt breaking while we’re driving somewhere this summer. That’s assuming we’re driving anywhere this summer instead of spending the whole season emptying a house. But I wanted the option.
The Princess’ lab results were good. For now we’re considering her liver issues solved. We’ll still give her the daily Denamarin and pro-biotic pills just in case.
With today’s Wordle there weren’t too many choices for guess 3.

Good Morning!
This weather has become so unpredictable that even the guessers are doing worse than usual... the sun is out now, who knows what will come before nightfall... 🤷🏽♂️
I struggled with the Wordle today... didn’t become apparent until after row 4...

I would have had a lot more guesses before #3 if it hadn’t been for the list of previously used words.
As is the case at times, I played this one stupidly....
🙃
My computer is back from the dead. So here I am.
Congratulations to the Princess and you and Mrs. ArGee. It seems like this has been a very long story.
I had my annual (more like first in three years) physical this morning. My doctor, who is actually a P.A., said I seem to be holding up pretty well for a gal my age with ten kids, and they’ll let me know if my blood shows anything unexpected.
I got a Shingrix shot, after she checked the advisories and found that the shot I got ten or twelve years ago has been less effective than one would hope. I made a note to call them at the beginning of August to get the second dose.
Happy Thor’s Day... Apropos considering it was raining this morning when the forecast last night said it would be DRY... Had t odrive to a client site rather than ride. Now, of course, it’s drying out and looking to be a beautiful day.
*sigh*

At least. Maybe longer.

@ 3500... ALL dishes end...
Or, not... I just got done eating lunch.
