There's also talk about a flat tax and other radical measures dealing with the tax code. Maybe because of the economic outlook.
No, the “talk” was about import tariffs not the flat tax. Then again you knew that.
Gifts are only taxable when they are over $18,000 a year from one entity to a person.
Tips never should have been taxed in the first place.
It is like having to pay taxes on your birthday check from grandma.
It will be popular.
A bartender can make $500.00 a night on Friday and Saturday and a couple hundred on other nights, and a waiter at a high end restaurant can make $750.00 on a busy night.
No tax on tips will go a long way in helping them.
No tax on social security benefits is a large group who are reliable voters.
“ I’m intrigued to see how this goes...”

It needs to go “no INCOME TAX ON TIPS”. FICA taxes should still be covered so that “non-FICA covered” tips don’t hugely adversely affect the amount of social security benefits that the tipped workers eventually receive.
I’m all for it. I don’t think you need an act of Congress, but that will help make it permanent. It’s just an IRS regulation afaik. Trump can sign it away.
And SS too?
I will believe it when i see it.
Congress doesn’t like it cut stuff. They say they do. But their actions say otherwise. And it’s really mostly the same Congress.
A tip is a GIFT!
Went to beauty shop yesterday and gave guy who cut my hair a cash tip. He told me it didn’t matter because there’s no tax on tips. {WA state)
In other news, he cut my hair to perfection six weeks ago, but yesterday he cut it far, far too short.
If the infernal redicules scam were abolished and vaporized things would be much better.
I’m sorry, I think this is a terrible idea. There are many people who make most of their money through tips. That is their income and they should pay tax on it, just like everyone has to do.
If this passes you are going to see movie stars being paid union scale for their hourly time and get “tipped” millions of dollars to make a movie. And I’m sure there are many other similar situations that will arise.
It’s a bad idea, the Labor nominee is a TERRIBLE idea, and the quicker Trump finds a way out of these foolish promises and choices the better.
Trump’s “Fight Club” moment.
“”Look, the people you are after are the people you depend on. We cook your meals. We haul your trash. We connect your calls. We drive your ambulances. We guard you will you sleep. Do not f—k with us.””
Are the Democrats really going to say "If WE can't be the ones to pass it, nobody can?" Even though they supported it during the campaign?
