This high volume ping list is for health articles and studies which describe something you or your doctor, when informed, may be able to immediately implement for your benefit.

Before dismissing this, try an extra five minutes of high-intensity intervals (after a gentle 5:00 min warm-up). The effects on your health with be amazing.
And please note, the high-intensity exercise is just a little bit more than you are used to. Don't over-do it. Grow into the high intensity very slowly.
Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome.
It works.

I’d have to get off the couch to do that. Exercise makes me sweat and nobody wants to do that. It stinks. Just gimme more pills.

I’ve lifted weights and jogged for many years. I had a heart attack a few years ago and did nothing for over 4 years. Got back in the gym a little over a year ago. I ride a stationary bike for 15 minutes, lift relatively heavy weights for an hour to an hour and a half, then ride the bike again for 15 minutes. When I started I looked like a tired fat old man. After only a year, I still look like a tired fat old man. Losing weight and building muscle is extremely hard for a 65 year old.

Can you put extra exercise "in the bank"? In 2024 to-date, I've gone on 112 hikes, hiked 300 miles, total duration 162 hours, climbed 39,439 vertical feet, and burned 90,500 calories (according to the trackers). Here are a few photos from my exercise hikes in Canada, Washington, Idaho, and California:
