President Trump’s Magic Show Begins

Trump will move fast, change directions, and keep his opponents off guard.

If you’ve ever played speed chess, then you can appreciate what President Trump is about to do to “official” Washington. This won’t be like 2017, when the president did everything he could to work amicably with House and Senate Republicans. This time, you either get on the “Trump Train” or kindly throw yourself from the back car. There’s no time to waste, and the president won’t be slowing down for stragglers.

After his first election, President Trump arrived in D.C. with Republican majorities in Congress, too. He expected that the people who had promised to repeal Obamacare for seven years would have a legislative package ready for him to sign into law. He expected that Republicans who had campaigned on securing the border for four decades would be prepared to do what it takes to achieve that goal for the American people. His expectations were met with the disappointing reality of squishy Republican backbones and Uniparty backstabbing.

While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell informed President Trump which of his potential nominees would get Republican support (McConnell’s wife, for instance, would have no problem winning confirmation), House Speaker Paul Ryan told him that there was just no money to build a border wall (because Ryan had already spent trillions supporting Barack Obama’s policy agenda). Both Republicans took turns publicly laughing at Trump for arriving in D.C. with the misguided belief that the work of government could be anything other than slow. McConnell and Ryan wasted most of President Trump’s first year in office bickering about how best to dismantle Obamacare before finally throwing up their hands in feigned exasperation after Senator John McCain saved the Democrats’ costly expansion of government-directed medicine with his final “screw you” vote.

If this happens it will be fun to watch. Trump should stir up voters against any obstructionists. Make them pariahs.

Yes. I expect the Washington insiders to have troble moving to block all of the very dynamic leaders that Trump is putting in place right now. Everything is going to be in motion, all at once, and the bureaucrats aren’t used to moving at that speed. Resistance will be challenging.

And perhaps more important, the MSM will have 50 stories to cover every day about the Washington bureaucracy. Frankly, it’s not that interesting (which is good). It will be constantly shifting. People’s attention will have to shift from Efficiency, to Health, to Lawfare, to Tariffs, to Education, to Energy, to Taxes. It will be exhausting for the journalists and for the viewers.

No one will be able to keep up. I think Trump’s momentum will be enormous and neither the bureaucrats nor the media will be able to mount a strong resistance.

“Tariffs”

What I favor is a blocked currency like India has. The Chinese stuff would get paid for by US dollars that would be lent to the federal government at 0% interest until the Chinese use those dollars to pay American workers or buy American goods.

There would be no tariffs involved, so the Chinese imports would not cost American consumers more money.

The system would apply to all countries, including Mexico and Germany.

Also, the same rent-a-mobs cannot be everywhere. The perverts, feminists, neo-Marxists, lefty unions, etc. all back each other's causes, We already saw some of this in Trump's first term, where opposition to Title X cuts hardly materialized because the Wall was on the front page. I saw a smaller version in Wisconsin when Governor Scott Walker pushed through Act 10 and half a dozen other reforms simultaneously, causing the left to occupy the Capitol itself. (They were NOT charged with Insurrection) and Dems fled to a boobie-restaurant/hotel in Rockford, Illinois to avoid quorum (the flee-baggers).

This is a good strategy, and folks like Musk, Gabbard, Ramaswamy can carry it out.

I’m in favor of replacing most federal programs with block grants to the states, with half the money being allocated on a per capita basis (to help lower personal income states like Mississippi) and half by personal federal income tax paid (to help high employee cost states like New York).

The federal government would continue to run 65+ Medicare and Social Security since older people often move out of state to places like Florida.

The block grant to a state would get reduced if the state seems to have too much spending money as evidenced by paying for invader health care, genital surgery, business harassment, etc.

I guess we can thank liberals who SO far polarized US politics that there are no shades of gray between left and right

It’s all so crystal clear NOW, that even people typically bored with elections sat up and listened... THEN made sure to vote. THEY will be watching closely, too... and will support the new administration

“No one will be able to keep up.”

That was my first thought when PDJT hit the ground running with rapid-fire appointment announcements (most of which, of predictably, were “controversial.”)

The media and their Rat fellow travelers already have little remaining credibility; they'll have even less when they spend all their time branding every Trump nomination as “extreme.”

Trump is officially a lame duck who can now attend to fast tracking his legacy without regard to the media or being liked to get reelected while he has a congressional majority. That’s why he wants his cabinet up and running for these first two years while he has a majority to steamroll his legacy projects. They will slow him down the last 2 years especially if they lose the majority. Looking forward to the Trump whirlwind running these folks over

“The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.”

Just follow the constitution.
The office of majority leader is stripped of power.
The VP can and should order crap out of committee for a vote.

”House Speaker Paul Ryan told him that there was just no money to build a border wall”

Trump had to fight to get any funding for the Security Wall, but somehow Biden could spend hundreds of $ billions on pet projects with a Republican House.
