A depressed and demoralized Democratic Party is beginning the painful slog into a largely powerless future, as its leaders grapple with how deeply they underestimated Donald J. Trump’s resurgent hold on the nation.
The nationwide repudiation of the party stunned many Democrats who had expressed a “nauseous” confidence about their chances in the final weeks of the race. As they sifted through the wreckage of their defeats, they found no easy answers as to why voters so decisively rejected their candidates.
In more than two dozen interviews, lawmakers, strategists and officials offered a litany of explanations for Vice President Kamala Harris’s failure — and just about all of them fit neatly into their preconceived notions of how to win in politics.
The quiet criticism, on phone calls, in group chats and during morose team meetings, was a behind-the-scenes preview of the intraparty battle to come, with Democrats quickly falling into the ideological rifts that have defined their party for much of the Trump era.
What was indisputable was how badly Democrats did. They lost the White House, surrendered control of the Senate and appeared headed to defeat in the House. They performed worse than four years ago in cities and suburbs, rural towns and college towns. An early New York Times analysis of the results found the vast majority of the nation’s more than 3,100 counties swinging rightward since President Biden won in 2020.
The results showed that the Harris campaign, and Democrats more broadly, had failed to find an effective message against Mr. Trump and his down-ballot allies or to address voters’ unhappiness about the direction of the nation under Mr. Biden. The issues the party chose to emphasize — abortion rights and the protection of democracy — did not resonate as much...

It’s worse than democrats think...
The unrelenting stupidity of the Democrats actually believing Americans would accept:
<><>a candidate who slept her way to the top
<><>who worships abortion
<><>whose husband betrayed his first wife
<><>who called nanny banger Emhoff a symbol of masculinity
<><>who misled the electorate WRT Biden’s mental acuity
<><>her deplorable choice of a running mate
<><>her trillion dollar spending sprees of tax dollars
<><>who continually revealed her lack of judgement honesty and integrity.

I have facebook, well the band I play with does. And the meltdowns are a thing of beauty. To rub it in I posted,
“ the worst part of this tragedy is Obama, Pelosi, Clooney, and Kamala All kicked out the one man who could have beat Trump. If not for them Biden woul$ have been re-elected.”
WOW what responses that got.
“Dark”
The legacy media will wear out that word, going forward.
Master-level trolling.
I think that’s what pisses of the democrats most. Who do they have in the lineup? All the old guard have one foot in the grave. How popular is AOC? Jamal Bowman? Tlaib? The only person who they can drag out is Newsom. How popular are arrogant smug Californian politicians outside of Malibu and Sacramento? They have no one to appeal to the majority of American. And the democrat base is made of smal” identity groups that hate everyone not in their group. Who can they put up against Vance 2028? And they painted themselves in a corner by insisting that whomever they run has to be “the first.” The first tranny. The first queer. The first homosexual. The first Muslim. The first transpanfemmequeer dwarf.

Blame is a form of procrastination.
Ahem, the Dems still own the K-PhD school system. It’s their fortress.
It was painful to watch Trump go through all the legal crap, but that really helped his image.
So many things they did to him instead of pushing their policies and the public saw it for what it was.
And he never pulled the victim card. He muscled his way right through it.
I expect Trump to push the GOP very hard to push his plans into law.
They had better not delay with the tax breaks for tips and OT, among other things.
I want them to start deporting the illegals in his first days, too.
Liz Cheney took the wrong side. I personally believe she was setting herself to be a candidate for the presidency.
She fell flat on her face with countless other Trump haters who call themselves republicans.
Oh, now, “dark future”, it isn’t that bad. There will be plenty of lights surrounding the labor camps we’ll send the liberals to.
Hageman later defeated incumbent representative Liz Cheney, a Trump critic and vice chair of the House January 6 Committee, by a landslide in the 2022 Republican primary election, garnering over twice as many votes as Cheney while spending less than a quarter of Cheney's campaign expenditures.
