While they may follow that order, I don’t believe they would continue to follow it for long. Every military member has families that live among the citizenry. Once firing upon civilians began, those family members would quickly become known as targets. If the military didn’t stand down, some parents, siblings and wives would perish to accentuate the necessity of staying out of the fight.

There will be NO outright civil war regarding the military. However, there may be some isolated skirmishes with some very far right.
The real concern is if the crazed left moves beyond destroying their cities and organize into groups to move into the suburbs. That is where a sporadic or on-going armed conflict could arise between SocialistsCommies/Anarchists and conservative/Constitutional patriots may occur.
I would call that a WAR OF CULTURES. The military wouldn’t be very effective since WOC would consist of guerilla fighting, so they would always be after the fact just like your local police.
The military is NOT going to start CWII. They know we know who they are. No one will be drawing lines across an open battlefield. Those days are gone.
The incidents you noted, 20,000 'bonus army' veterans protesting their mistreatment and the internment of around 120,000 people of Japanese descent on the west coast during the Second World War are not comparable to the proposed fantasy situation in either scope or mission.
It would be ok if Trump’s army turned on the feckless US citizens who hate America and the Constitution. You know — the traitors.
As a veteran of the US military I know the law states that the US military can’t be used against US citizens for law enforcement purposes. Congress would have to change the law and good luck with a split congress changing the law. YMMV.
I would not want to be given the mission to subdue 50 million snipers.
I think the potential problem is with our active duty federal military but with some national guards that could be called up by States Governors and used.
The military I know and have known would not carry out an obviously illegal order.

I believe for every “Bigwig” that would wish for the military to go against the American citizenry, there are at least 1,000 normal American military and civilians who will fight to preserve America and our Constitution...

May be a small number but a few Detroit rioters in 1967 were KIA by members of the 82nd Airborne. Many more by the Michigan Nat’l Guard.
Now raise it to 20 million.
