When Obama, Schumer, and Pelosi brandished their political knives in to force Biden out of the race, it was their plan to anoint a successor by way of negotiation among the establishment. They would have avoided any populist disruption by primary support for a hard-lined leftist like Bernie and could have nominated a moderate with some crossover appeal.

I can’t change your mind, because I have been speculating along those lines for some time now. What I have a hard time believing, though, is that the Deep State might be willing to delay their try for total control when they’re this close. A collapse might be the opportunity to take over everything.
I suspect there are factions supporting both outcomes.

Carefull, folks. I suggested this on another thread and was called stupid and brain dead. One could make the case that I AM stupid and brain dead, but the fact is that sometimes it looks like The Bidens aren’t being that terribly helpful to Kamala.

The turmoil will result in chaos, which is exactly what they want.

I think you’re correct. The last thing a presidency seeking democrat wants is to have to go up against a democrat incumbent. If Harris wins they could be frozen out for up to 8 years.
It’s much better to try to salvage control of congress, let Trump win, then try to blunt his success and sabotage his last 4 years while capitalizing on using him for fundraising and keeping their base fired up.
