Mayorkas Says FEMA Will Run Out of Funds Before Hurricane Season is Over; Agency Spent $640.9 Million on Noncitizens in 2024

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has spent more than $600 million of available funds to serve noncitizen migrants in fiscal year 2024, and now, according to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the agency doesn’t have enough funding left over to make it through the rest of the hurricane season.

“The agency is being stretched as it works with states to assess damage from Hurricane Helene and delivers meals, water, generators and other critical supplies,” the Associated Press reported.

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida last Thursday, then plowed through Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia, flooding towns and killing more than 160 people.

More than 150,000 households have registered for assistance with FEMA, and that number is expected to rise rapidly in the coming days, said Frank Matranga, an agency representative.

The devastation was especially severe in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where at least 57 people died in and around Asheville, North Carolina, a tourism haven known for its art galleries, breweries and outdoor activities.

“Communities were wiped off the map,” North Carolina’s governor, Roy Cooper, said at a news conference Tuesday.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” Mayorkas said. “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season.”

Mayorkas made his comments as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris traveled to the Southeast for photo ops amid the devastation left in the storm’s wake.

Harris visited Augusta, Georgia, one of the cities hit hardest by Hurricane, two days after Trump, along with Christian evangelist Franklin Graham’s relief organization Samaritan’s Purse, surveyed the damage in Valdosta, Georgia, and passed out truckloads of supplies. During her stop, Harris announced that FEMA would provide whopping $750 in relief funds for people who have immediate needs.

As of April, more than $174 billion in American tax dollars have been appropriated to assist Ukraine. A total of $640.9 million has been spent to feed, clothe and house noncitizens.

Congress recently provided $20 billion in funding to FEMA’s disaster relief fund as part of a short-term government spending bill to fund the government through Dec. 20, according to the AP. The bill reportedly “gave FEMA flexibility to draw on the money more quickly as needed.”

Mayorkas claimed Wednesday that FEMA has been able to meet the immediate needs of Americans in communities devastated by the hurricane, however according to multiple reports, the federal government has offered little to no help.

According to independent journalist Breanna Morello, the Biden-Harris regime and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper (D) are refusing to deploy search and rescue teams to help Americans trapped after Hurricane Helene.

These teams have been in the area since Sunday, but have not been granted authorization to rescue anyone.

“They’re waiting to get authorization through Title 10,” Morello reported on X Wednesday.

Title 10 of the United States Code covers roles, missions, and organization of the United States Armed Forces, and establishes the legal basis for the Department of Defense.

“For some reason that’s not coming down,” she said.

This is what happens when the priorities are miscalculated or used for an agenda. We aren’t the land of plenty anymore. We are just any other country when it comes to budgeting. We started borrowing from Peter to pay Paul many years ago and it has grown in its misuse because we can no longer pay back the amounts we redirect. Our only advantage is we can go broke at higher numbers. But if we waste those numbers, higher isn’t a protection except to the taxpayer who doesn’t know of the back room deals that don’t mean as much to the country as they do a select few. And causing the rise in inflation and throwing money to everyone that should be standing on their own exacerbates our problems. This is one of the main reasons we need a president with the economy in mind for the people and not the government. Vote Trump. He knows how to do that right. He’s proven that. And taxing any class in our setup is going to cause further inflation no matter how many corrections (?) are going to be made and that they can’t work.

fwdude @12: "And the traitorous Republicans put off his impeachment in the first vote."

Despite a few RINOcrats, House Republicans did impeach Traitormayorkas on the second try, but postponed sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

The impeachment articles were eventually sent to the Senate, whereupon Senate Majority Leader Traitorschumer "adjourned the trial on a simple majority vote, after 51 Democrats voted to dismiss the charges brought by the House, deeming them unconstitutional."

The truth comes out, but no one is asking the question,

"Why?"

Congressional hearing should be automatic with dipshit called back to testify to this crime.

$600 million dollars is a lot of money to spend just to make a Jamaican/Indian Marxist refugee hoodoo the “first” president of America. Americans should be ashamed of themselves. It’s unreal how many so-called “republicans” have crawled into bed with her.

They treat our tax dollars like it’s their money. There USED TO BE a sense of responsibility about how OUR money is spent. Now they just assume they can do whatever they want with it.

Then, when it’s actually needed for the purposes the taxes were imposed for, the money is already spent.

People should go to prison.

if the 15 million only got 1000 each that would be 15 billion and below poverty level, multiply that by 12 months and you get 180 billion, if only 10 million ilegals it would be 120 billion, still not a measly 640 million. he’s playing big number games for stupid people

But, let me guess, neither Mayorkas nor any other bureaucrat employed by FEMA will miss a paycheck.
