So long, farewell ...

I didn’t know that he was elected right after Robert Byrd to the Senate.

That WV ancestry tree in politics doesn’t have many branches.

The Obama war on coal destroyed West Virginia. Manchin is a casualty of that war

A pure politician that took his career down a one way dead end road.

Maybe CNN or MSNBC can hire him. He’ll do well there.

He’s the epitome of the corrupt politician.

Selling the power or using his inside knowledge for personal gain.

Not saying he broke the law. These sort of things are done entirely legally today, Clinton giving million dollar speeches overseas to people that want something from his wife while she was Secretary of State. Rick Perry making HPV vaccines mandatory in TX public schools and his campaign being largely funded by the same pharma company which produces this vaccines...

Term limits will never happen for Congress. It would end MOST of this corruption and just like voter fraud is by design, so is this corruption.

Manchin periodically seemed to express that he knew his party’s path was wrong, but didn’t always follow through. I get the impression he is a good person, but as for his job as a Senator, many missed opportunities to do the right thing for his State and Country.

I am going to take a pass on praising Manchin. He talked a good game but always supported the Dem establishment. He voted the way they wanted him to vote on every crucial vote. Then he complained - loudly and publicly - about how bad it was. Manchin is actually worse than a Pelosi or Boxer. They said what they want and voted that way. Manchin lied to stay in office.

Well, he did do one good thing for Americans. He got rid of Democrat Robert “The KKK Bird” Byrd from the U.S. Congress. The first Confederate relic to be culture club cancelled by the lefties and their illegal aliens.

I still say Manchin pressured Biden for the presidential nomination in return for his support of Biden’s porkulus bill and got rolled.

The one time flying high Governor of WV

Let's cut to the chase: He sold his soul to the devil when he went to Washington. His occasional attempts at redemption failed. We, the People of West Virginia, got sick of his sorry ass, and now he's leaving the Senate in disgrace.

It seems like there were efforts, and even rumors for Manchin to switch parties, and I think he even flirted with it a bit. It would have extended his political career in WV, for sure. Since he never did, I wonder what it was that kept him with the Democrats for so long.

Hard for me to imagine what it must be like to be an insider in the Democrat Party because the thought of being around most of those people makes me physically ill. Sadly, I'm starting to feel the same way about a lot of Republicans, too.
