When Kamala Harris sat down for just the second major television interview of her campaign last week with the Philadelphia ABC affiliate, the anchor asked her to outline “one or two specific things” she would do to fulfill her pledge of “bringing down prices and making life more affordable for people.” She responded by recalling how she was “a middle-class kid” who grew up in a community of construction workers, nurses and teachers who were “very proud of their lawn.” She recounted her mother’s saving to buy her family’s first house. She paid tribute to a neighbor who became a surrogate parent. She praised the “beautiful character” of the American people.
Only then, after nearly two minutes, did Ms. Harris outline her plan for a $50,000 tax credit for start-up small businesses; private-sector tax breaks to spark construction of three million housing units over four years; and $25,000 in federal down payment assistance for first-time home buyers.
It’s a shibboleth of modern political strategy that candidates should answer the questions they want to, not the ones that are asked, and Ms. Harris faces a unique challenge in this truncated presidential race of introducing herself to an electorate that in many ways still barely knows her. So she might be forgiven for leading with a blizzard of atmospheric biographical detail that makes some voters feel they can’t trust her to answer a direct question.
But in a campaign in which Donald Trump fills our days with arrant nonsense and dominates the national discussion (and polls show a tight race where Ms. Harris is running behind Joe Biden’s level of support in 2020 with some groups), the vice president can’t afford to stick only to rehearsed answers and stump...

Todd has a boatload of cognitive dissonance packed into those two brain cells of his.
Don’t worry... I’m sure everybody out there can’t wait to join Kamaltoe’s ‘Reproductive Freedom Tour’... It’s gaining steam... Like that of a steaming pile of turd.
Well he may have a point of sorts as 49% of voters today are unqualified to be voters.
“So she might be forgiven for leading with a blizzard of atmospheric biographical detail that makes some voters feel they can’t trust her to answer a direct question.”
A lot of word salad and verbal gymnastics there by the NYT writer to say voters don’t trust Harris because she’s not answering questions about anything.
Beard's An Economic Interpretation of the Constitution says there are only two economic functions of gov't: 1) the provision of social overhead capital (i.e., things deemed by society as necessary, but not provided by private markets, like roads), and 2) the policing of property rights (e.g., a legal system, a standing army). The gov't has far overstepped its bounds.
Who subscribes to the Times? Somebody has to for their articles to show up so often. NYtimes, wastes so much paper, as to be able line the Jail Bird cages of Rikers Island, and best suited for that purpose.
An anecdotal story. A friend of mine has a housekeeper help him out periodically. He says she’s a Democrat, which annoys him. She told him she watched the debate. She said after watching the debate, she was voting for Trump! She was put off by the fact Harris didn’t answer any questions, and has no sensible plan, and the parts which did make sense (price controls) sounded dangerous. Maybe the lefties are getting nervous about their basement strategy.
This? From the New York Times? A less than flattering article on Willie’s Ho?

Kamala was raised is Westmount - one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Montreal, Canada. Looks like CIA goons, FBI thugs and commies from the democrat party misjudged the American people - lots of Americans know neighborhoods in foreign countries. And if we don't we can google until the goons bury the information.
It’s like she something to hide.
“Who subscribes to the Times?”
I had the misfortune of working for a batch of lefties once. One of them told me he read the NYT as well listened to NPR. Several others did as well.
Kamala Harris is an actress running for President.
They are all actors.
No sir. She is a prostitue running for President. Her payment is positions (double entendre intended).

Brown did her doggy style so hard one night the next day she was out knocking over trash cans and chasing motorcycles
That’s the only way the left will allow itself to be critical of Harris - preface it by “Of course, Trump is much worse”.
