This is the development 'city' (NOEM) the Crown Prince has bet the farm on. Like 1 trillion dollars. It's going to be a soulless pit like the Chinese when they did these developments.
Who's going to move there? Anyone tempted?

Yes. Sand feels nice between the toes. Everyone knows the rules and boundaries.

I spent way too much time there. Only thing to look forward to is leaving.

I wonder if the Crown Prince would be very motivated to save you if you ran afoul of the Saudi religious police.
On one hand, he’d want to keep the foreigners happy. But he’s got to keep his crazy Muslim pals happy, too.

I knew some people in the oil business who worked in Saudi for months long stretches. They said the pay was fabulous.

I have decided I will leave this world without setting foot on Muslim land.

A former project manager of mine did some work there. She lived in a area that was sort of a westernized section pr zone in some city. She said it was fairly normal inside the gates. But somewhere in the city she witnessed the public stoning of a woman. She said it was the most disturbing thing ever, especially since a lot of the royal men there act like they live at the Playboy mansion.

Will they be able to practice and preach Christianity openly?
To: RandFan
No.
My husband was stationed there. It is the one place in the world where he was stationed that he has flatly said he will not take his family to visit.
I respect my husband's wisdom and knowledge.

Having spent quite a bit of time in the Kingdom, on multiple trips, I can say unequivocally NO. You cross the border into Saudi and you are on another planet. Not a very nice planet. I can get along there but I never, ever forget where I am.
