Counting Down my iTunes Play Count (VANITY) -- Day #20
AC’s iTunes Directory | 9/18/2024 | Alberta's Child

Posted on 09/18/2024 12:26:35 PM PDT by Alberta's Child

Day #20 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I'm posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the next couple of months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so it will take at least ten weeks to do this.

And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, I'll be making a contribution for the current AND next quarterly fundraisers. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)

Have fun with this, folks!

Pinging to those from the previous threads. I'm not a big Rush fan but this one has been a favorite of mine for years.

Let me know if you’d like to be added or removed from the ping list!

Please don’t put “Tom Sawyer” by Rush. No need to put it on a play list. Just turn on the radio to any “rock” station and wait a few minutes.

That’s Aimee Mann from “’Til Tuesday” singing on that.

My wife and I went to see Rush a few years ago. They played their greatest hits more or less, in reverse chronological order. I didn’t think they’d play any songs from their first album Rush, which is my favorite and more or less straight ahead rock and roll, because Neil Peart wasn’t on that album, they had a different drummer. Well to my surprise they did play a few in the encore and only about 10 people in the auditorium knew the songs. If you like straight up rock and roll Rush is a great album.

And fwiw, my wife was one of maybe three women in the audience 😂

I recommend Geddy’s autobiography, especially the parts where he talks about his parent’s Holocaust experiences.

And to think there were those who actually called Rush “Fascists”, because of the Ayn Rand-based lyrics.

Funny that people would call Rush, which was supposedly a 'libertarian band', fascist.

Fascist is what libertarians call everyone who isn't a libertarian! ;-)

And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people Need not apply" So I tucked my hair up under my hat And I went in to ask him why

“Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road” written by Neil Peart is a good read too, I think.
