When Drea de Matteo’s character died on The Sopranos, it was agonizing for everyone — including the actress, herself.
In the new documentary Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos, de Matteo, 52, recalled filming the season 5 episode entitled “Long Term Parking,” in which her character Adriana was killed for being an FBI informant. Creator David Chase kept Adriana’s fate under wraps until the very last minute to avoid any possible leaks to the public.

I was always upset that Dr. Melfi did not sic Tony on the creep that raped her.
I hated the rape scene.
Justice was not served.

What was the FBI hoping for by recruiting her as an informant anyways. They ought to know that bosses like Tony Soprano don’t sit down with the girlfriends of their men and give them the details of whatever crimes they’ve committed. They were looking for any way in. So they were hoping to use her to flip Cristofuh or pick up any other intel they could get. They already tried it with big Puss and he got whacked. They planted a bug in a lamp at Tony's and that didn't work. They were willing to try anything.

That’s a very, uh... pragmatic way of looking at it.
Yeah... pragmatic.

That was a TERRIBLE scene. And it appears that the FBI were the same then as they are now. Who knew? (I guess we all did.)

LOL... I guess a surprise is better than 15 minutes of terror. But it kinda was sociopathic.
And I think she clicked, and knew it was coming when they exited the freeway.
