They say we should catch flights and not feelings—but whoever said that probably doesn’t realize how expensive airline tickets actually are. In a clip that has amassed 1.1 million views, TikToker Mandi (@mandi_martinez11) filmed herself booking two sets of flights on the American Airlines website: One as a round-trip, and the other as two separate tickets.

She accompanied the video with a caption that read: “POV: You learned that booking flights separately is cheaper than booking them together.” And as the subtitle implies, that’s exactly what her TikTok shows.

“you might get your own row.”

Whether you do or don’t you’ll still be a jerk.

You used to be able to book segments in an itinerary and before you sold the ticket, cancel the segments you did not need in order to basically fool the system to get the right fare codes to price the ticket lower.

“No checked luggage. Carry-on.”

What’s a fool-proof way to not forget your carry-on luggage when you leave the plane?

I’d say if you forget your carry on luggage when you leave the plane, you’re an idiot.

In any event, you can always check out this place. You may find your stuff there. I’ve been there. Cool place.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget your ONLY baggage as a carry-on.

That question is along the same level of obtuse as “What if the roof peels off the plane mid-flight?”

Yet when going to concerts, it works the other way. Booking online gets you many fees (Ticketmaster), while buying at the gate saves money.
