The father of the Georgia school shooting suspect has been arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
Colin Gray is also accused of four counts of involuntary murder and eight counts of cruelty to children.
Two teachers and two students were killed in the attack at Apalachee High School in Winder, 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, on Wednesday.
Colin Gray's son Colt, 14, surrendered when "engaged by school resource officers inside the school", Barrow County police said.
He is accused of committing the fatal shootings with an assault-style rifle outside his algebra classroom.

Well it wasn’t 15 years ago but 9 months ago for Christmas.
He’s not going to say a word. He’s learned his lesson.
The kid was clearly a problem, law enforcement had visited the parents when the kid threatened someone, and then the Dad bought him an AR-15. Not exactly father of the year material.
Look sparky, I know you’ve got an agenda to push, but the Father GAVE the kid an AR-15. AFTER the FBI had visited the house and told pops that the kid was a threat. So i’ll just say it. 14 year olds who are on the FBI’s radar for threatening behavior shouldn’t be given AR-15s for Christmas.
This means the FBI ignored chomo Joe’s “Red Flag” March 14 declaration. I’m sure someone at the FBI will be punished....
His dad bought the kid the gun for his birthday.
Dang, all I got for my birthday was socks.
So every inner city shooters parents are now on the hook for their delinquent offspring when they shoot/kill people right?
the GA AG said in a press conference that the GBI was busily arresting students and any others making copycat threats on social media to shoot up schools, etc.
now THAT’S how you stop this shit ...
Thanks.
No, it’s even worse: “Colin Gray bought his son an AR-style rifle as a gift after the pair were questioned, law enforcement sources told NBC News.”
Please read the article: “Colin Gray bought his son an AR-style rifle as a gift after the pair were questioned, law enforcement sources told NBC News.”
This family was evicted from their last residence. How can dad afford to buy an AR-15? We keep hearing the average family doesn’t have $400 to cover emergency expenses. Lots of holes yet to fill in this story.
It’s too early to know everything, but it sounds like the parents — at least the father — are master abusers to their kids. Allegedly, the aunt in FL had been trying to save the children from the abuse by contacting GBI, but they ignored her. (Another shining example of the wonderfulness of Gov. Kemp. 😠)
Evicted for non-payment? An AR can be had for $500. No details on what model was bought.
common sense
Yep. Not a very brilliant idea to buy your son a gun after he had already been investigated for threatening the school.
Um, that’s what I said. Maybe you replied to the wrong post? It happens — no hard feelings, done it myself.
