China realized that just reading Mao’s Little Red Book wasn’t going to get it done. So they decided to “Out Capitalist The Capitalists”.
“...Might be a good idea to have receipts for that gold...”
-
I do not own any gold, but
I do have a hand full of Morgan and Peace silver dollars.
I do not have any receipts for them.
Can I get arrested for traveling with them?
Not being naive, but we are on a course that only leads to one thing, and China doesn’t have to do anything.
I’m 100% more concerned with the Communists here, than those on the other side of the world.
An attempt to demonize Gold? Any gold bug can be arrested or under suspicion of “ something”, resulting in confiscation without trial? Bad, bad precedent….as the USD continues to fall, gold is booming, now at historic highs ( In dollars), about 2,500 paper dollars per t/ounce. We are in a generational bull market, and .gov hates it.
That said, I expect our governments push for digital currency ( cashless system) to ramp up, and more demonizing of Gold, Bitcoins, private digital currency.
Finally, pictures would be helpful in determining where they acquired the Gold. US GoldEagles? Generic bars? Pre-33 coinage? Chinese bullion, foreign bullion?
To move money they would by expensive, specialized German industrial machinery and park it in a warehouse in Germany. He said it lost little value, and when they wanted cash, they would sell it.
Before Beijing caught on, Chinese companies with subsidiaries in Hong Kong would buy tremendously overpriced items from the subsidiaries and the subsidiaries would move the cash out of China.
like they said in animal farm some comrades are more equal than others
From William DeVane at Roslind Capital.
In my area (Seattle suburbs) most of the buyers of the nice homes are Chinese. They pay cash. Elderly couples buying a brand new 5,000 sf house. It has been that way for awhile. It wouldn’t surprise me if the CCP has some sort of plan to somehow have it wreck our economy.
I guess if the American Dream includes a young working-class couple being able to buy a home, the plan is working. (It is now the Chinese and Dot-Indian dream - along with really fancy cars).
Those gold bars can be traced from point of origin. Bet we never find out where they have been.
They had their Mapquest set for Senator Menendez’s house.
Third time will be a charm ... for China
Dumbass fails to mention whether those ounces are avoirdupois or troy.
Yep.
It’s changed a lot over the last three decades with the Chinese communists coming in and usurping communities created by Taiwanese and Hong Kong immigrants.
All of them buy homes overseas to keep mistresses and to have somewhere to escape when Ceausescu time comes.
Governments gave up on pushing people to carry personal tracking devices that spy as well as brainwash, and instead got most to not only wear such a device voluntarily, but pay for the privilege. This device is already the primary interface for digital currencies. People's dependence on electromagnetic radiation is starting to rival their dependence on food, water, and air.
Old timely democrats prefer gold to that crypto stuff.
Just shy of 7 lbs of gold at 2488 spot price and 14.5 Troy Oz to the lb.
China need not do a thing. As Bill Burr famously said, “We live in an era of gold-digging whores.”

What if they had been found with bars of lead hidden under the seat? Would they have been arrested for that?
If not: Why not?
