I put this in news, although it is presented as humorous.

It SHOULD be considered news since people need to be aware of the fact that a government agency will fund a University study showing that a sugar-laden cereal is healthier than proteins.

I guess I know which company paid for that grant.

Humans need protein and fats more than they need carbohydrates. Eggs are healthier than Cheerios. You can’t build a body on Cheerios, but your body can convert proteins and fats into carbohydrates.

Millions of middleaged adults are sending this article to their very elderly parents with a margin note saying:
“See? I told you there was nothing wrong with Count Chocula!”

...it’s pushed the food pyramid — carb heavy...

The food pyramid and all its high-carb/low-fat derivatives are Crimes Against Humanity.

How ever did the human species survive prior to the invention of Cheerios?

Make America Healthy Again. That issue is one that rational citizens can respond to.

I guess the over priced cereal from a highly unionized factories in blue loving states like Michigan can’t sell their cereal anymore even when push the big box stores like Walmart to carry an over abundance of it. I’ve never seen seen more selves lately stock with cereal then the last month or two. I’ve even seen it stock at the end of frozen stuff isles, and stock near the entrance doors. I’m even see more cereal coming through the food drive I volunteer for, but most of it is all that sugar crap they push, that they make money off of, and stores like Walmart take a tax write off of the expensive cereal.

Raisin Bran is the way to go. With whole or 2% cows milk.
That, and two cups of coffee and an apple or banana.

That’s why I have cereal, eggs, and meat for breakfast, combined with heavy weightlifting. Filling up my muscle glycogen with the carbs from the cereal, prior to weightlifting, then rebuilding the muscle with the protein and fats.

I like Cheerios, but don’t eat them that often because having Type II diabetes, they raise my blood sugar level more than two slices of bacon, one egg, and one slice of toast. I use Splenda on my Cheerios, and in the two cups of coffee I limit myself to each day. Bagels are bad too for blood sugar, so I limit their intake was well.

Hold on . . .

THIS 76 year old sat in front of 1950's and 60's TV with Puffies n' Cheerios, n' Raisin Bran . . . . .

.... and we learned to read and do crafts because of the boxe4s.

Hell, I even remember getting a 45 RPM record we cut it out and poked a hole in and it actually played . . . . I forget what, but that's a true story.

I think it’s bogus, but Cheerios only have 1 gram of sugar.

Is this the hippy health food forum?

Cheerios are fine.

So are eggs.

Cherios also contain trisodium phosphate (TSP) which is said to be used in other foods too, so we probably don't know how much per day any one person consumes.

https://www.medicinenet.com/is_trisodium_phosphate_in_food_bad_for_you/article.htm

"Trisodium phosphate (TSP) is an inorganic phosphate additive that is widely found in processed foods.

Although small amounts of TSP may not cause health problems, eating foods high in phosphate additives on a daily basis can be harmful to your health. This is especially a concern if you have underlying conditions such as kidney disease.

Phosphate overload has been associated with kidney problems, intestinal inflammation, poor bone density, heart disease, and even early mortality.

Learn about the potential health risks of consuming foods high in TSP."

Bet their recommendation has to do with that despicable poison, Carbon.

And don’t even get me started on Methane! Chickens fart, cheerios don’t.

Haven’t you heard that the Erf has a fever??!?

Yeah, trust the science, except a DNA test to prove that a mother and her fetus are not the same individual.
