The parents of Trump shooter Thomas Crooks have hired a team of powerhouse attorneys as the FBI continues to investigate just how much they knew ahead of their son's assassination attempt on the former president, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.
The development comes as one family member shared with DailyMail.com that the FBI, 'still very much has questions' regarding how much the killer's parents knew – while revealing that his father Matthew Crooks, 53, is a gun enthusiast who has sold firearms to relatives in the past.
Speaking to DailyMail.com, the family member who asked not to be named said, 'The FBI still very much has questions about how much they knew and how he [Thomas] slipped through the net.'

If the team is described as “powerhouse” criminal attorneys, you can bet that its the attorneys who leaked the story to the press.
He could have gotten the same legal advice to keep his mouth shut with cheap lawyers.

The American media have been suspiciously uncurious about Thomas Crooks. This is a young man who tried to assassinate arguably the most famous man in the world, a former president and current presidential candidate. But after the initial flurry of contradictory information in the first two weeks after the shooting, they have moved on. They have a new task: to hype the “joy” and “excitement” emanating from Kamala Harris.

I can hardly help but assume that the powerhouse lawyer is really being paid for by the deep state, charged to lock up any potentially escaping truths tighter than a barnacle’s grip.
Any competent attorney will tell you to keep your trap firmly closed. Say nothing to anyone, especially cops. Even correcting a small detail in a statement ends up being used to call you a pathological liar by a DA in court. Just STFU.

I do not see that as much more than a dead-end for leads.
Far more damming is the cell phone records that place Crookes in a DC location well known as a meeting zone for confidential informants to meet with their FBI or other agency handlers. He was way out of his normal travel patterns. What was he doing there?
Did he screw up on his operational security and call somebody that he should not have called? That would be a far more productive avenue for investigators.
I would bet that has already been checked. It would be a routine part of any investigation. And too much valuable blackmail information is potentially available for the FBI to use for their own benefit, regardless of any possible directions to cover-up the conspiracy.
