Greetings, comrade worker: Candidate for Party General Secretary Kamala Harris has promised to punish the hoarders and wreckers driving up grocery prices.
All hail the might of Soviet labor!
That’s the latest bonkers proposal from Komrade Kamala Harris, unveiled in her marquee speech on the economy Friday — socialist price controls on groceries.
Because the sky-high grocery prices average Americans have seen since she’s been in office couldn’t be the result of her boss’s disastrous economic policies.
No, they must be caused by price-gouging corporate overlords who for some reason want customers to buy less of their products.
The data prove Harris and her team are (as usual) lying.
Producer prices have moved up in lockstep with consumer prices, meaning that people selling goods and services charge customers more because they themselves are paying more for goods and services.
That’s the vicious circle of inflation.
That Harris’ mendacious “first 100 days” idea is being greeted with anything less than universal hoots of derision is obscene.
Indeed, it’s so absurd that even The New York Times, the chief interference-runner for the Biden administration, has admitted the situation may be more “complicated” than Harris claims.

Slogan/Policies have been used before
She’ll also put her face on all food packages just like Hugo Chavez
She is giving the ok to return to burning stores.
especially on the pre-made salads. as in “just can’t find enough dressing to fix a harris salad” but if you buy it and get sick...that’s on you.
Best thing I’ve read here in ages. Thanks for posting it.
Think some kid needs to Trump her....
LET PEOPLE BE REMINDED, that Richard Nixon had once tried price controls.
On Aug. 15, 1971, in a nationally televised address, Nixon announced, “I am today ordering a freeze on all prices and wages throughout the United States.” After a 90-day freeze, increases would have to be approved by a “Pay Board” and a “Price Commission,” with an eye toward eventually lifting controls — conveniently, after the 1972 election. Even though his speech pre-empted the popular Western Bonanza, the people loved it, too — 75 percent backed the plan in polls.
Economist Milton Friedman correctly predicted, however, Nixon’s gambit ended “in utter failure and the emergence into the open of the suppressed inflation.” It was obvious that price controls didn’t work: “Ranchers stopped shipping their cattle to the market, farmers drowned their chickens, and consumers emptied the shelves of supermarkets.”
Scarcity AND inflation running amok.
They had her giving the rehearsed ”stump speech” on Fox.
“This campaign isn’t about the past, it’s about the future.”
It just begged for someone to scream, “that is because you are responsible for the present and you sure as hell don’t want to talk about that.”
I still resent the woke and BLM kissup CEOS who do virtue signaling about helping the downtrodden workers by contributing to Dems.
Hope many of the big supermarket and supplier CEOS will get bright red faces and tightly clenched fists over being used as the scapegoats by Dems for “price gouging.”
It’s up to business to fight and take down the Dems.
Well past time they should have joined our side.
As for the lies about price gouging:
One of the summaries of profit margins for their field:
“Supermarkets can be profitable, but they operate on thin margins, which means efficient cost management and strategic planning are essential. The standard net profit margin for supermarkets in 2023 was around 2.2% before taxes, and just 1.6% after paying taxes.”
Trump should come out hard against these price controls give a simple 5 point explanation on why price controls are terrible policy and will only damage the economy more.
....I believe it was the late, great Rush Limbaugh who coined, or at least used it widely, the term “low information voter” crowd...I am listening to the Pantsuit Princess even now...sounds great..!! wonderful!! go after those greedy, selfish corporations, especially the grocery firms, etc. for their “price gouging” or as she just put it, “gauging”....it’s gonna be a long, and painful, campaign season....
Love love love these!
Richard Nixon tried and failed. Gerald Ford tried WIN (whip inflation now) and failed. And of course Jimmy Carter failed. But the Cackler will make work. LOL A ditz.
“... the people loved it, too — 75 percent backed the plan in polls.”.
Yup, and the “people” will love it again because they don’t understand economics and sure as heck don’t remember history.
Next proposal will be nationalization of the food industry.
First thing that will happen within hours will be empty store shelves
The consequences will be immediate
I’m old enough to remember that and Ford’s stupid Whip Inflation Now buttons.
