My ancestors were from Spain-most from the Spanish Pyrenees-Basques. I have dark red hair gray/green eyes and no freckles. One uncle and an aunt had that coloring, as do 3 of my 1st cousins. And yes, we do have the same volatile Latin temper as our brunette family members-blame those Romans...

Aren’t they adorable? I don’t know who they are, but I’ve saved the photo from a random internet search for several years. They’re probably all grown now.

I’ve always been a sucker for red heads, married a two of them and missed out on a few of red heads unfortunately..

My great grandmother was a redhead. Right off the boat from Ireland. I got those genetics. I was a carrot top as a kid and eventually went blonde then bald.
One feature of red heads is reactions to medications. Red heads react very differently to meds than most everyone else. I get the side effects but not the cure.
When I went on blood pressure meds, I had to play a roulette of finding a medication that actually worked.
Notice that the crazy starts at 4.
