The Government Of The United States
Observation, Experience, Reasoning | 8/12/2024 | blueunicorn6

Posted on 08/12/2024 9:18:12 AM PDT by blueunicorn6

The government of The United States exists to serve ALL the citizens of The United States.

The government of The United States DOES NOT exist to serve the following:

1. Leaders and nations hostile to The United States such as China and Iran and Venezuela. 2. Government employees. 3. The Democrat party. 4. Nations that compete with us such as Russia and Britain and Saudi Arabia. 5. Single issue groups such as homosexuals and environmentalists and feminists. 6. Criminal organizations. 7. A specific religion. 8. People of one skin color. 9. Descendants of ancestors from a different nation. 10. People from another country. 11. Large economic entities specifically for the financial gain of the owners. 12. Unions. 13. Wealthy individuals to merely increase their wealth. 14. Nations too cheap to pay for their own defense. 15. Other nations in conflict. 16. Nations foisting their troubles on us such as Canada and Mexico. 17. Providing cheap labor from other countries to benefit the wealth of a few individuals. 18. Lawyers. 19. Hollywood and Madison Avenue. 20. The press.

There are more.

Our government serving these groups detracts from the real purpose of our government, chews up our finite resources and invites criminal behavior.

Thank you for taking the time to post to me.

I really enjoyed all the cogent remarks you made about what I wrote.

Your discussion was informed and well thought out displaying the energy and care one would normally expect from a five year old.

It's due to this:
Congressional Record–Appendix, pp. A34-A35

January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman’s request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following “Current Communist Goals,” which she identifies as an excerpt from “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen:

U. S. Congressional Seal[From “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen]

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS

[BELOW ARE JUST SOME OF THE COMMUNIST GOALS]

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [“]united force[“] to solve economic, political or social problems.

You forgot Ukraine. Our government and the taxpayers do not exist to support Ukraine or US and western corporate interests in Ukraine or any other country with the use of war and taxpayer money.

We also do not exist to use color revolutions and coups to overthrow and force other countries to dance to our tune.

I know that if someone supports any sort of campaign financing reform here on FR that they will get labeled a socialist, communist, or worse, a McCainiac.

My moderate solution for returning government to focusing on the citizens is this:

1. Only human persons can contribute money to parties or candidates.
2. These human persons have to be citizens of the US.
3. These human persons have to be registered voters.
4. They can only contribute to candidates that they can vote for, i.e. no out-of-district or out-of-state contributions.
5. Any citizen can contribute directly to any party, either local, state, or national component of which they are a resident.
6. At this time, I'm OK with no limitation on how much one individual can give to any candidate or party.
7. Organizations such as corporations, unions, PACs, etc. can encourage people to send money to a particular candidate or party, but the money must be sent directly to the candidate's campaign or the party.

By limiting campaign contributions to citizens who can vote for the people they finance I think that politicians will be more focused on the citizens they represent rather than the people or organizations who have the most money and lobbyists.

Another well thought out reply to me.

Put down your legos and write something that refutes what I wrote.

The government of The United States exists to serve ALL the citizens of The United States.

The federal government exists to serve the common interests of the several states via the limited powers delegated to it by the states. It was the role of the governors of the several states to lead the people of their individual states.

It was the role of the federal Executive to manage the relationships between the states, to be the voice of the nation in foreign relations with other countries, and to be the commander-in-chief of the military during armed conflicts.

The President's constituents were the governors, not the people. The states were the sovereign governments closest to the people. That's why the Senate was designed to be appointed by their respective state legislatures: 1) to confirm the President's nominations for executive branch offices and judicial picks, and 2) to ratify treaties that the President negotiated with foreign governments.

It was the several states, through the Senate, that were supposed to "lead" the President, not the other way around. This is why Article IV Section 4 says "and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened)..." The states were expected to communicate to their Senators to convey to the President what the states were going to do. They were not asking the President for permission, they were informing the President of their intended actions.

I don’t understand number 9.

9. Descendants of ancestors from a different nation.

"If you are the descendant of an ancestor [Huh?!] from a different [i.e., foreign] nation."

My great-great-grandfather [i.e., an ancestor of mine] was from Denmark [i.e., a foreign country], so I guess my government shouldn't serve me.

Regards,
