Susan Wojcicki, former YouTube CEO, died at 56 after living with lung cancer. Wojcicki led YouTube from 2014 to 2023. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Troper, and their children.
Susan Wojcicki, the former CEO of YouTube, died "after two years of living with cancer," Alphabet CEO Sunder Pichai wrote on X, adding that he was "unbelievably saddened by the loss." She was 56.
"She is as core to the history of Google as anyone, and it's hard to imagine the world without her," Pichai continued. "She was an incredible person, leader and friend who had a tremendous impact on the world and I'm one of countless Googlers who is better for knowing her. We will miss her dearly. Our thoughts with her family. RIP Susan." Wojcicki is survived by her mother, journalist and educator Esther Wojcicki; her sisters, Janet, an anthropologist and epidemiologist, and Anne, the cofounder and CEO of 23andMe; her husband, Dennis Troper, and their four living children.
Wojcicki was predeceased by her father, Polish American physicist Stanley Wojcicki, and her son Marco, who died in February of this year. He was 19 years old.
Wojcicki married Troper in 1998.
On Facebook, Troper wrote on Friday night: "My beloved wife of 26 years and mother to our five children left us today after 2 years of living with non small cell lung cancer."
"Susan was not just my best friend and partner in life, but a brilliant mind, a loving mother, and a dear friend to many," Troper wrote.
Many prominent tech figures have also paid tribute to the late executive.
Marc Benioff, the CEO of Salesforce, described Wojcicki in a post on X as "a trailblazer in the industry, an exemplary mother, and a cherished friend."

She was a truly evil woman. I have nothing more to add.
It's my personal conspiracy theory that people in positions of power knew the truth early on: That Covid wasn't much of a health threat absent advanced age or comorbidities and that the vax was useless and perhaps even dangerous.
In short, they didn't get vaxxed themselves.
“10 to 20 percent of lung cancers are with non smokers”
They really nailed down that number.
They are just making up stuff.
Joseph P. Farrell calls it “Quackademia”.
Lol.
I think the truth about the vaxxes was a “need to know” secret of the elites.
She probably did not need to know.
She could be easily replaced if she croaked.
Maybe so. According to her husband, she died of non-small-cell lung cancer. If you read about it, death can be rather quick. She had the best healthcare in the world and nothing could be done.
She was the CEO of YouTube and the architect of their censorship regime. This made her one of the most powerful persons on the planet.
“She had the best healthcare in the world and nothing could be done.”
Lol.
Gone are the days when we actually measure results and make people accountable.
I would settle for “worst healthcare in the world” that actually cured me.
:-)
I repeat this simple fact—she could be easily replaced is she croaked.
There are some people who really are hard to replace.
She was not one of them.
And I maintain this simple fact -people in her orbit knew well enough to not get vaxxed.
First rule of propaganda: Don't believe your own bulls**t. And she was a Joseph Goebbels-level propagandist.
Some cancers spread quickly. Not much you do about it if don’t diagnose it early.
If I get that diagnosis I would try every crazy and insane and disreputable thing—better to be lucky than good.
Sorry about that.
Probably for expressing your opinion or saying something not PC.
In my younger days I went to a fancy college with big name professors.
They all believed their own garbage.
They were stupid as rocks compared to folks who did their own research and did not have to worry about being “respectable”.
Statistically (up until the Fake Vax anyway) about 90% of lung cancer victims are smokers. A fair number of the other 10% have had exposure to something. A small number number of non smokers just lost the genetic lottery for cancer resistance.
If she was never a smoker it is a reasonable question to ask if she had the Jab, or multiple Jabs because of the increases of various cancer rates in traditionally low risk groups since the Jab was foisted on us.
No smoking, no Jab? Just bad genetic luck.
As a doctor said to me (prior to the mRNA Jab - which may well be a new wild card on this subject), Not all smokers will get lung cancer, but most people who do get lung cancer are smokers.
I feel bad for her lipstick.
Among the smorgasbord of drugs in her late son’s toxicology report was THC, of which the most common delivery system is smoking cannabis. Now, of course, the son’s habits are not necessarily shared by the mom. However, it’s crazy to me how prevalent drug use including cannabis smoking is among *all* socioeconomic classes in the S.F. Bay Area. Now of course many such people would consider themselves “nonsmokers” because they don’t use tobacco. However as has been pointed out elsewhere in this thread, there’s remarkably little research on the cannabis-lung cancer nexus. In earlier generations, there was likely a confounding on the subject due to most cannabis smokers probably also smoking tobacco. Now though there’s a newer generation of weed smokers who never touch tobacco.
To think they censored Ivermectin which cured Covid in 4-8 hours in most cases and perfectly safe is criminal.
“I thought the script downloads were an automatic thing — that is, Youtube/Google wouldn’t care if you’re logged in.”
Exactly right. You don’t even have to log in. All you have to do is land on their site and it auto-loads into your browser and rides around with you everywhere you go until you clear your cache again.
“I don’t know what a “script download” is, but I use a VPN, so Google doesn’t know my IP address.”
Unfortunately a VPN only keeps outside 3rd parties between your browser and the target site from seeing what you have going back and forth. And while it will provide you with a proxy IP address, this does not prevent your target site from loading scripts into your browser when you land there. It is all included with the page load when you land there and load the page. And once it is loaded it rides around with you everywhere you go until you go and clear your data and history cache.
No. That was Nina Jankowicz.
