A state of emergency has been declared in the Russian border region of Kursk as troops continue to battle against an alleged Ukrainian incursion. President Putin has accused Ukraine of a "large-scale provocation."

Russia said on Wednesday that it was continuing to battle Ukrainian troops that crossed into the border region of Kursk a day earlier, with a state of emergency declared by the regional governor and security tightened around a nearby nuclear power plant.

"To eliminate the consequences of enemy forces coming into the region, I took the decision to introduce a state of emergency in the Kursk region from 7 August," said Kursk's acting Governor Alexei Smirnov on Wednesday evening.

It’s estimated the Battle of Kursk caused around 800,000 Soviet casualties and 200,000 German casualties. In terms of armor, the Germans lost 1,200 tanks and assault guns, while the Soviets lost over 6,000.

This Putin and Roosky Army version of a Chinese fire drill. Complete chaos, fear, pandemonium. Chaos means loads of Russian army will be fired on by Russians. Bombs too, dropped on their Russian brothers.

Are the Ukes really concerned their supply of weapons from us will be cut off if they break these “rules”?

No, but they are really concerned that they will be forgotten if Iran and Israel heats up. This is like a pep rally to stay relevant.

And, you're a liar.

Then quote where I’ve lied. Should be easy enough, unless you’re lying.

I knew you couldn’t provide a quote, because you’re a lying fraud.

It’d be funny to see the Ukrainians seize Kursk just to watch the Putin sycophants try to spin it the way they tried to spin losing Kherson.

Tell me, does it hurt your pride seeing the Russian army struggle against a corrupt 3rd rate country like Ukraine? How many months ago did MacGregor’s declarations start to ring hollow in your ears?

You're a fool if you think Ukraine is going to hold an inch of Russian territory for more than a very short period of time.

Again, you're a LIAR.

The Russians intervened in Donetsk and Lugansk to SAVE the population there from being persecuted and murdered by Ukrainian nationalists that seized power illegally with our help.

The people of Donetsk and Lugansk overwhelmingly voted for Yanukovych, who was driven out of office AN ILLEGAL COUP. The people there were NO OBLIGATION to remain part of an illegally-formed government intent on persecuting and killing them.

Russia HAD FAR BETTER REASON to invade Ukraine and we ever did in EITHER IRAQ WAR.

Those living in the annexed territory DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO BEING PART OF UKRAINE. The voted, by choice, to join the Russian Federation.

And, whether you like it or don't like, start learning to live with that fact that territory is going to remain part of Russia for as long as you're breathing.

The problem was the Soviets could make up the losses. The Germans had carefully husbanded their tanks for the offensive. They never recovered from the losses and even if they had won it would have been a Pyrrhic victory.

Apparently, the Soviets could afford the losses, and the Nazis couldn’t. It marked the end of the German advances in Russia, and the beginning of their retreat.

Again, you're a LIAR.

If you think I have lied anywhere, quote the post, otherwise I'll report you for lying and harassment.

Put up, or shut up.

We both know you can't.

Well that's funny, three years ago Ukraine accused Russia of a "large-scale provocation"!

Shouldn’t Ukraine use those resources in the east to slow the Russian advance

Playing defense in WWII-style trench warfare is not how you win a war, especially against an opponent that massively out-artillerys you. Actually going into Russia proper means once they get pushed back, if Russia can, will require significant manpower be permanently redirected north. This either relieves some pressure from the rest of the front, or Ukraine will do it again.

And these guys should be pretty safe from artillery and glide bombs, as Russia's gonna kill their domestic support if they start bombing their own people trying take it back.
