Whatever happened to Travis? Competition musta scared him away as the younger generation looks elsewhere. I'll never give up on them.
Just keep in mind that the Levi-Straus corporation is a big fan of male anorexia, victim disarmament, and homosexuality.
Normal, Cowboy, Queer.
That’s about it.
Levi’s quality has disappeared. It’s all junk now.
If I were working on a farm or a ranch, I guess I’d wear jeans.
But I don’t work on a farm or a ranch.
I have stopped buying Levi’s (and the only pair that I now own was bought for me as a gift by my wife, who was informed, in a respectful way, to never buy that particular brand again). Instead, I am buying the Old Navy jeans, as they are far more comfortable, last quite a long time and quite a bit cheaper. Besides, I don’t feel like supporting the ultra woke agenda of Levi Strauss.
It is amazing to me how many businesses make the stupid move of coming out for or against particular politicians or particular issues, on which the American public is pretty much divided into two equal camps. When I grew up in the 60s and 70s, the watchword for all businesses was to not discuss politics or religion with customers, as you are almost guaranteed to lose half of them. It is a stupidly suicidal action, and if I was a shareholder, I would complain relentlessly. This, of course, does not mean that the individuals who are owners and or employees of any business can’t have their own political preferences, and donate and vote for their favored candidates or parties. It’s just monumentally stupid for a business to take a stand on some issue or other, and lose a good part of their customers as a result.
My son can only wear the 560. Unable to find them anymore.
Aren’t Levi’s now Queer cloths?
Stretch jeans are the best.
Wrangler 47s for me
I don’t but Levis jean but I buy Wranglers and Rustlers and it seems to me in about the last five years they have changed the fly construction so they don’t cover the zipper like they used to and the slider pull tab is smaller and either ends up instead of down and jams up and has to be freed.
$14.99 Costco Kirkland brand for chores around the house.
Ariat and Wranglers for everything else
I don’t bother with anything Levis these days. Another american icon gone woke.
I've found other all-cotton brands I prefer including the "Rustler" brand at Wal-Mart for only $14 that I like much better than today's Levis.
For a fun bit of romanticized history of Levi Strauss and his accidental creation of his jeans with riveted pockets, you can't beat "Death Valley Days" Season 8, Episode 28, filmed in 1960. It's titled "The Million Dollar Pants." You need an Amazon Prime subscription to watch it. Red Buttons starred as Levi Strauss. Highly recommended. It was made in a different TV era without all the bombast, graphics, special effects, horrible "music," etc. Just nice, simple story-telling.
Carhartt. I gave up on Levis 20+ years ago.
Levi’s became garbage made with crap denim.
Strauss family and management are largely rich leftist and Jewish
When I grew up they were the cats pajamas
Those jeans took years to get comfortable and cost 5.99-7.99
They still make good product but there is a huge huge amount of competition now didn’t exist then
Wrangler and Lee
And lesser brands like Penncraft and Mann
The new girl boss has a good record of turnaround
I also have some Signature Gold relaxed fit jeans, for when I gain some weight (think Christmas...), which are inexpensive and good for working in the woods on our property.
I pretty much ignore the politics of the company unless it’s really in-your-face like Bud Light thing. The again, I didn’t drink Bud Light, so that wasn’t an issue.
I heard Jack Danials had done the same woke crap - but nobody was talking about it so kept drinking it.
That’s pretty much my consumer philosophy: Wherever possible, I want to buy from companies that keep their product the same because I hate the way companies change styles and fashions all the time. I have always worn the same clothes, bought the same cars (if possible) and eaten the same food all my life.
Some companies respect that and keep their product the same - and I really appreciate that. I care more about that than I care about their political positions.
I’m 72 and I hope they keep making Levi 501 button fly jeans so I don’t have to figure out a new kind of pants to wear. I hope someone keeps making flannel shirts that look reasonably familiar. I hope T shirts stay reasonable the same. Same with sneakers or work boots - when they wear out I’m looking to buy the same exact thing again.
I like bacon and eggs and steak and potatoes and the vegetables I had as a kid. I hate the way they have all kinds of foreign fruits, vegetables, coffee flavors and craft beers. I just like normal beer and coffee - the way it always was.
People call it being in a rut. I call it finding something you like and sticking with it.
I have a couple cars from the 1950s and 1960’s that I work hard at keeping running so I don’t have to buy modern cars that look like they are from The Jetsons.
They changed the paint and lumber so that whatever you build only lasts a year or so.
None.
I’ve always found Levis to be uncomfortable, even after dozens of washings.
