I have stopped buying Leviโs (and the only pair that I now own was bought for me as a gift by my wife, who was informed, in a respectful way, to never buy that particular brand again). Instead, I am buying the Old Navy jeans, as they are far more comfortable, last quite a long time and quite a bit cheaper. Besides, I donโt feel like supporting the ultra woke agenda of Levi Strauss.
It is amazing to me how many businesses make the stupid move of coming out for or against particular politicians or particular issues, on which the American public is pretty much divided into two equal camps. When I grew up in the 60s and 70s, the watchword for all businesses was to not discuss politics or religion with customers, as you are almost guaranteed to lose half of them. It is a stupidly suicidal action, and if I was a shareholder, I would complain relentlessly. This, of course, does not mean that the individuals who are owners and or employees of any business canโt have their own political preferences, and donate and vote for their favored candidates or parties. Itโs just monumentally stupid for a business to take a stand on some issue or other, and lose a good part of their customers as a result.
