Crooks was behind the ridge of the roof until he got ready to shoot. The SS sniper could not see him.
Supposedly the a Police officer saw Crooks on the roof and backed off when Crooks pointed his riffle at him?
So, for future reference ..I want to know ..if I want the police to leave me alone I should point a gun at them?

Even so. If the SS sniper (why just the one, btw?) and his spotter couldn’t see him, there were dozens and dozens of others that DID see him. There’s something new out now. They’re called radios. I hear they work pretty good. Even small enough now to just have ear buds in and all that. Where’s all the recording and transcripts of that traffic?
And there was s roomful of LEOs overlooking that part of the pitched roof before the shooter climbed up there. Why did they leave?
If a previously-roof-positioned LE was stationed on that roof "before getting too hot," wouldn't the counter-snipers have notice that the earlier one was wearing standard LE gear while Crooks wore cargo shorts and a T-shirt?
Did the guy who got too hot to want to keep his job also have long, flowing brown hair?
Surely an AR-15 without a big scope and expensive range finder is not a standard counter-sniper weapon! (The counter-snipers on the buildings behind where PDJT would speak would have been able to see such weapon characteristics.)
I also wonder whether that apparently-transparent jug that we see in the lower picture (near Crooks or closer to the phone camera?) was brought by Crooks and where it might have gone subsequently. I've not heard anyone talk about it.
“The SS sniper could not see him.”
The snipers said they could see him.
There was a team of snipers BEHIND the shooter and very close to him, and they would easily have seen him the entire time he was on the roof. Here is video from inside the window used by this sniper team: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKQxGda6jM0
There has been speculation that snipers thought the shooter was part of security. However, the video above shows the snipers has a close-up view, and we know the shooter had long hair and was wearing shorts, so clearly not police.
There are claims that one of the sniper team was missing (sick?), a second went to investigate the shooter and got locked out, and the third went to let the second one back in the building -- all at the time the shooting was happening.
Here is a second video from the rooftop where the shooter was, showing the view to the sniper window: https://youtu.be/avDlN6VynaA?si=NkNRgsUy0boz-OI1&t=23
