July 18 (UPI) -- The manager of a Red Lobster restaurant in Colorado said a rare orange lobster that arrived at the eatery will be taking a permanent crustacean vacation to the Denver Aquarium.
The orange lobster was spotted by Jose Romero, a dishwasher at the Pueblo restaurant, and the general manager decided to spare the rare-colored invertebrate from the dinner plate.
"I have been at Red Lobster for 12 years, I always unpack the live lobster shipments, and I have never seen an Orange Lobster! I noticed it right away, how different it was, and I thought, oh my goodness, I'd better get him in the tank and find my managers," Romero told KRDO-TV.
The general manager said lobsters with rare colors, such as orange and blue, are usually sifted out before the shipment arrives at individual restaurants, but this one slipped through the system.
Orange coloration is believed to occur in only one out of every 30 million lobsters. An orange lobster caught off the Maine coast in June 2023 is currently being studied by researchers at the University of New England to determine whether the cause of the peculiar pigment is genetic or a result of environmental factors.

There was a blue one that was saved not long ago. My daughter saw how lobsters are prepped and cooked and she lost her mind. PETA got to her.
I’ve been to slaughterhouses where cattle are butchered. I’ve been at ‘hog killings’ where they are butchered and cut up for storage.
Comparatively speaking, Lobsters are treated more humanely...............
Red Lobster needed a hiker from below the border to tell them that they were getting ready to chow down on a rare lobster.
I haven’t encountered any lobsters in Colorado, but just about all I saw was Pike’s Peak.
The Red Lobsters in Florida aren’t very good. But then they have stiff competition from really excellent seafood restaurants. I would assume that, like oranges, the best ones are found far away from the shore.............

LOL. If global warming caused the lobster to be orange wouldn’t the entire ocean be teaming with them?
After last Friday we’re all orange.
You know the drill, it’s hot, global warming. It’s cold, global warming. It rained, global warming. It snowed, global warming. Hurricane, global warming.
The lobster is saying to himself that that spray on tan stuff works.

That seems pretty radical & far-fetched, but I DO hope it is a sign of good luck in November as to the election outcome. We certainly don’t need another mess such as occurred at the last election has become.
