Can’t say that same thought didn’t cross my mind. It would make him part of the beast, not the anti-Christ. Some translations have that verse say, “as if it appeared wounded to death.” Which could be understood it looks like a deadly headshot, but is not.
I also consider that God raises men up to fulfill prophecies and if so many believe we are so close to the end times, would God allow Satan to use a Christian? Job comes to mind.

One possibility is that the beast is Islam.

I always thought this verse referenced Biden’s brain aneurysms.
Anyone with even a small understanding of the Book of Revelation knows it was written to the Jews of that day. The near future back then regarding the destruction of the temple and the horrors Josephus documented along with other historians alive at the time. Please stop looking for signs and explanations occurring today. You’re losing the point.
People of that day understood clearly what was written about. The animals were symbolic of the authorities and countries in power. So was everything else. Also keep in mind there are 3 ages. Creation to the flood, post flood to the crucifixion, and the “end days” which has been ongoing 2000 years. Only thing left is the culmination of the age when Christ returns and outs an end to all this as we know it.
