Queen pols are fuming that the borough is being overloaded with rowdy migrants – and are calling for other Big Apple neighborhoods to take their fair share of asylum seekers.
“It’s been a real challenge,” Queens Borough President Donovan Richards said Sunday. “Just because you have a loud voice and more wealth doesn’t mean you don’t do your fair share.
“What about Staten Island?”
The Post reported Sunday that the poorest neighborhoods in the five boroughs are taking a disproportionate number of the migrants flooding into the city – with Queens taking the brunt.
Queens is home to 70 of the 193 taxpayer-funded shelters – or 36% – being used to accommodate the more than 65,000 migrants still living in the city.
Long Island City alone has 23 government-run shelters, or 12% of the citywide total, with Jamaica and Briarwood housing 13 of the shelters in the borough.
More than 206,000 migrants have now passed through the city in all – with the number of arrivals now increasing back to about 1,000 per week, according to city data.
“We’re getting dumped on here,” said city Councilman Robert Holden. “How long can we sustain this? These shelters add nothing to the neighborhood.

Try the Upper East Side.
EMBRACE YOUR SANCTUARY SPECIALNESS!
Load ‘em all into box cars, send ‘em to the mexican border or as far south as they can go...
“What about Staten Island?”
what about it??? leave SI alone!
you voted for this, not them...
It was when I grew up there in the 50’s & 60’s.
Sanctuary cities: when virtue signaling turns around and bites your face off.
“Rowdy”
Such rambunctious scamps, our newcomers from around the world… 🙄
If America becomes the third World, they have no one to blame but themselves. National Guard standing at the border and f’n Chinese commies walk in like they own the place. One would at least expect to hear bursts of automatic fire. The silence is embarrassing. And elsewhere we have ROTC students happily marching behind a Palestinian flag and incinerating Old Glory. Pray tell WTF is wrong with America. I came here after crossing the Atlantic in a leaky boat on Christmas day 1956 and wore the USAF uniform in May of 1957 hardly able to speak English.I have dissuaded my two sons to serve in the military of a nation that is bent on self destruction. Their lives are too precious for such a life’s choice.
No thanks. I moved to Texas to escape the retarded Leftism that had completely taken over PA, San Antonio is as close as I want to get.
Same experience here. I attended PS78 & PS73 in late 50s, then Brooklyn Tech and Hunter College. Used to up regularly while Mom was still alive in the old house on 62nd Street. The changes were dramatic, you could see them from one month to the next. We sold the house when Mom died 10 years ago and now only go up to visit the family plot in St Johns in Middle Village. I loved growing up there but could not see raising a family there now.
Correct. The other 4 boroughs vote Blue, but perhaps to a much lesser degree this November. Recall Trump’s recent and favorable visits to Harlem and the South/Lower Bronx.
“NYC pols fume as migrants keep getting dumped on one borough: ‘It’s like the third world’”
Probably improves the hood.
When a democrat suffers, the world rejoices.
When a democrat dies, a toilet is flushed. /spit
Your reply pretty much nails it - they are getting exactly what they voted for.
Back then people wanted to come here and be Americans, make a better life for themselves. Now they come for handouts and want their new home to be the same as the $hithole they fled. Much like American liberals...they move from the blue cities and states they ruin to redstates and vote for they same thing.
The wanted liberalism. Now they are getting it good and hard.
NYC is a shxthole... What’s a few more turds in the toilet?
