President Joe Biden will have lunch with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday as he faces growing pressure to drop out of the 2024 race following his disastrous debate performance last week.

The 81-year-old Democratic president has signaled that he has no intention of stepping aside, despite his weak debate performance against Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, on Thursday.

Biden's poor showing sparked an immediate panic among Democrats and further highlighted concerns about his age and capacity to lead the country for another four years.

Harris is among the top contenders being floated to replace Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket, should he step aside. The meeting is closed to the press.

Maybe he's going to break it to her that those pulling the strings have told him it can't be her replacing him on the ticket.

Closed to the press, as per the story, because the air will definitely be blue with four-letter words.

If either of them becomes the candidate, Dems will lose heavily pre-fraud.

Side note to Joe: If Kamala pulls some candy out of her purse and offers it to you, politely decline.

They are going to imprison Trump before the election.

Kamala will be their nominee in the most undemocratic selection process in American history.

I don’t know who the bigger puppet is. Kamala or Biden. Both of them do as they’re told.

But I do believe - if Kamala has the right behind the scenes aids and very smart people guiding her...

She will pull this off and become president.

Kamala is the only way forward for the Democrats. Joe can stay on the ballot and people can vote for Kamala by voting for him.

In modern American history? You forgot 1968.

They won’t dare try. That would backfire on them to an even greater degree than the debate debacle.

Consider: Fani, Smith, Bragg and Merchan have suffered setbacks recently in their bid to get Trump as SCOTUS has issued friendly decisions.

I have said from the beginning that Kamala Harris had a 100% chance of becoming President.

Quite possible. Whomever becomes the D nominee will be backed by a compliant media and a well-organized cheat machine. That’s a powerful one-two punch.

On the other hand, I’ve got an older relative who’s not very political. She probably hasn’t voted in 10 years. But she’ll be going to the polls, and voting for Trump this year. She is very upset about the way the NY courts have targeted him.

I stand corrected, equally undemocratic.

I’m trying to think what made 1968 the most undemocratic selection process ever.

Oh yeah. The assassination of the leading candidate. That’ll sure change the selection process, won’t it?

I doubt it.

Anyone know how this works. Biden was the candidate in the primaries. Doesn’t candidates have to be in the primary to be on ballot? Won’t this affect electoral votes for some states?

At the moment of Kennedy’s death the delegate count stood at Humphrey 561.5, Kennedy 393.5, McCarthy 258
