Biden says voters ‘deserve’ Trump Jan. 6 trial before election, ignores questions about dropping out

WASHINGTON — President Biden slammed the Supreme Court’s decision Monday to grant former President Donald Trump absolute immunity from prosecution for “official acts” during his presidency — saying voters “deserve” a speedier trial for his prospective election rival.

Biden, 81, spoke from the red-carpeted Cross Hall for about four minutes — reading closely from a pair of teleprompters before turning to leave as reporters peppered him with questions about his disastrous performance at Thursday’s CNN debate against Trump, 78.

“Mr. President, will you drop out of the race?” a reporter shouted as Biden turned away from his lectern.

“What makes you so confident you should be the president?” shouted another journalist at Biden — whose last-minute speech was widely understood to be a way to demonstrate his ability to lead as fellow Democrats called for him to step aside.

“The man who sent that mob to the US Capitol is facing potential criminal conviction for what happened that day and the American people deserve to have an answer in the courts before the upcoming election,” said Biden, who previously has sought to distance himself from Trump’s prosecutions, which the ex-president accuses his successor of orchestrating.

“The public has a right to know the answer about what happened on January 6 before they are asked to vote again this year,” Biden said.

“Now, because of today’s decision, that is highly, highly unlikely. It’s a terrible disservice to the people of this nation. So now the American people have to do what the court should have been willing to do, but will not. The American people have to render a judgment about Donald Trump’s behavior. The American people must decide whether Donald Trump’s assault on our democracy on January 6 makes them unfit for public office in the highest office...

Trump didn’t send a mob. Nancy didn’t do her job.

“The public has a right to know the answer about what happened on January 6 before they are asked to vote again this year,” Biden said”

For once I agree with the senile old commie. Problem is, we will never hear the truth, we only hear the liberal narrative

I couldn’t agree more, Joe. I don’t think it means what you think it means, however.
Form a new, legit, Jan. 6th committee, give them a month, and all the evidence, to produce a final report. All the evidence.

SCOTUS didn’t allow Trump anything. It was all in the books forever ago.

We had a trial of Trump concerning the “insurrection” in February 2021. It was held in the Senate, based on the impeachment by the house. Trump was acquitted, as Senators voting for conviction failed to attain the required 2/3rds majority (less than a unanimous verdict needed for a judicial-branch conviction). Then we had made-for-television spectaculars put on by Pelosi’s “select committee.” But, I guess, no one was paying attention, because Biden wants another trial so people can learn what happened. Really?

Voters deserved to see the video recordings of the incident, but Biden’s little gnomes fought that tooth and nail. Why, do you suppose?

“..the American people deserve to have an answer in the courts before the upcoming election”

They have an answer from the courts: the prosecution is unlawful.

Jan 6th was about bringing attention to irregularities and suspected unlawful changes in voting which was being ignored by Congress, who chose instead to ignore concerns and to set up the rally attendees by not having enough security there to prevent their subversives from mixing in covertly and cause havoc and destruction which could and would be blamed on peaceful ralliers.

It is shameful that our political parties, one in particular, are more interested in maintaining power for their own benefit of greed and power rather than serving the citizenry. Instead the public is abused and dismissed as lesser beings, unless they submit to oppression by the top gators in the swamp.
